I am a 40 something gamer. I learned to play all sorts of card games (Spades, Pitch, Pinochle) with my grandmother when I was a youngster, then played Risk, Axis and Allies, and D&D in middle school and high school. I left gaming during my undergraduate and graduate school years, but discovered Magic around 2000 and then made the transition to boardgames around 2005.
I have a weekly gaming group that meets in either Clintonville or Worthington each week for a gaming session, a game playing 8-year old daughter, and easy access to Columbus Area Boardgaming Society, Origins, and Buckeye Gamefest. What more could a serious gamer ask for?
My gaming group could use a new member, so if my favorites or hot games are of interest and you live in or near University District/Clintonville/Worthington send me a geekmail and perhaps you might check us out.
I also enjoy trading for games and hunting around Columbus for interesting games. I can't find the time to post my finds on the BGG thrift lists, but have had some amazing finds over the years. I really enjoy discovering the history and trends in the boardgame hobby through obscure and interesting discoveries at thrift stores or garage sale.
I've accumulated a lot of games over the years, so now I actively sell games through the marketplace that I'll never play or that I've grown tired of. I will gladly ship overseas and enjoy the interaction with the many game lovers from around the world to whom I've sold games.
