My family has always played games... my father taught me chess and backgammon once I'd mastered Candy Land
Our family games of choice were party games or trick-taking games, especially Pinochle.
My next door neighbor was a serious gamer - weekly game nights, conventions, game testing, designing his own games. He, his sons and I would spend late nights playing Cosmic Encounter, Organized Crime, Talisman, Nuclear War, Borderlands, Dune and others.
My wife is agreeable about playing games and trying new games. One of my current hopeless hobbies is trying to guess if she will like a new game. I am quite bad at this, and I've written a GeekList about it here-My Odd Skill
In February of 2006, I saw a post on BGG inviting Cherry Hill gamers to a weekly game night. I've been enjoying gaming at 'Jay's Basement' since. I've also been to three WBC's, and played in some tournaments, including El Grande and Twilight Struggle. My favorite part of WBC, however, has been the late night Werewolf games! Brandon (Earl of Dukes here on the 'Geek) graciously awarded me a plaque as "Best Villager" of the games we played at the 2007 WBC.
I've written a couple of session reports of Werewolf games, you can read them here-Six Players, Six Different RolesAdding Nouvelle LuneSession With Cupid
Thebes and Twilight Struggle were my favorite new games of 2007, here are some session reports for each of these-Twilight Struggle: Bear Trap Hurts You...How I Learned, Taught, and Lost Thebes
2008 has introduced a great new game to me: Mystery Rummy: Jack the Ripper
Here are a session report and a review for this great game! Before I Celebrate, I Should Remember That I Am Terrible Reveiwed Herein, BGG Files, The Game, and a Session
Finally, here is my favorite picture on the 'Geek!Single and Loving It
