Everything began when I was a kid... I played a lot of card games and boardgames with my younger sister when I was a kid (Payday, Carreer, Big Deal and Risk) and a bit later with my even younger brothers. My parents also liked to play with us (Scrabble and Boogle with my mother, Chess and Checkers with my father). I had my AD&D period in late 80s early 90s.
Then a friend at university (patBeauregard
), introduced me to a bunch of new games and I was hooked. I quickly became a fan of the Game Masters serie from MB (Fortress America, Shogun, A&A), Diplomacy and Warhammer FB. We also fell for Magic (I started at Antiquities) and I became a fan of every Richard Garfield CCG that followed (Vampire, Netrunner, Battletech). Then I started buying more Warhammer minis than I had time to paint them. Afterwards we moved into german boardgames (in 1994-1995) and for some years I was hosting yearly "Game Fests" at my house with friends. And then we had kids, our friends got kids as well, and gaming became harder to setup. In our group of friends, I'm the guru and I introduced a lot of people to boardgames.
In 2006 I found "Les Dragons Nocturnes
", a french forum of people mainly from the province of Quebec. From there I met a lot of boardgame fans from around here and I started hosting gaming evening every other Friday. Now we have a very good group of regular players playing weekly and hosting moves from one place to another.
