Dear Secret Santa,
I apologize that my wishlist isn't longer, but that's mainly down to two things: up until about a year ago I bought most of the games that I really wanted, and then for the last year I haven't been looking at the new games as much because I have to stop buying so many. So, if after looking at my collection there's something slightly obscure from the last year or two that you think I'd like, please feel free to surprise me. The expensive, OOP games on my wishlist are just there so that I remember them, not because I expect such a present.
My favorite types of games are dungeon crawls and adventure games, cooperative games, push your luck, dexterity and variable player powers. I don't like wargames or mean games with a heavy "take that" feel. Fun fillers and lighter games would be welcome, as we are playing those more often lately.
Used games are fine, as long as they don't smell like cigarettes or perfume. And if you need to know more, but want to be sneaky about it, you can contact
, who can ask my husband anything she doesn't already know.
Also, this year we've added a new addition to our family, so children's games would be welcome as well. Granted, our son will only be 6 months at Christmas, but it's never too early to start the collection.
Although I've had a lifelong interest in boardgames, I didn't really get into the hobby until late 2003, when I found out all these great games existed. I enjoy a lot of different games and will play most anything once, with the exception of games that last longer than 4 hours. I am less inclined towards abstracts and wargames. I play 2 player games with my husband occasionally, but mostly I play Wednesday evenings with the local Buffalo group.
