Enlisted in U.S. Army at age 25 (Nuclear Field Artillery).
PFC- 1st Armored Division (Nuremberg) 1977-1980
SGT - 9th Infantry Division (Fort Lewis) 1980-1982
Went to OCS at Fort Benning 1982, became a 30 year old 2LT.
CPT - 2nd Armored Division (Fort Hood) 1982-1984
Left the Army, but came back from 1986-1987 at Fort McCoy.
Left the Army again, married (now 28 years), then came back in 1992 for First Gulf War. Left third time and then given a fourth Honorable Discharge (this time from the Reserves) when failed to make Major.
Lot of rough living, the Cold War, and lots of good buddies even today.
Started the Seattle Boardgame Club in 1980 at the University of Washington. Accepted into OCS and had to leave. In 1988 started the Atlanta Boardgame Club and shepherded that for 15 years, with a break for the Gulf War. Started a business in 1992, successful for 22 years.
Have only attended four game conventions in my life:
Won 1st Place in Open Boardgaming at the RheinCon in Wiesbaden 78.
Won 1st Place in the Victory in the Pacific Tournament at Origins 84.
Won 1st Place in the Victory in the Pacific Tournament at Origins 90.
Won 2nd Place in the Axis & Allies Tournament at WBC 99.
