Michigan City, Indiana, a nice town on the peaceful southern shores
of Lake Michigan, about 60 miles from Chicago. Hence all of my undying allegiances to the Windy City's professional teams. 2013: the Blackhawks take the Stanley Cup!
2xxx: the Cubs win the World Series!! (footage forthcoming)What I do when I'm not playing games:
I'm a professor of music, having taught music theory and composition at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles since 1992. Regarding composition, here's a bit about me and some of my works
.What's up with the avatar?
It's a shoebill
, a huge, magnificently hideous African wading bird; a fantastic prehistoric fright of a creature. Back in the late 80s, I called my fantasy baseball team the Shoebills and the shoebill as mascot has stuck with me ever since. Regarding the banner: Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame shortstop/1st baseman Ernie Banks, "Mr. Cub," died in January (on my birthday) of 2015. His signature wish to play doubleheaders every day ("Let's play two!") encapsulated his great love for baseball and irrepressible, contagious spirit.Favorite types of games:Card games
