Work in IT and currently a small scale hobby farmer, with pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks. Was a computer game junky for a very long time. Through this time, bought various board games which was a hit and miss affair.
Then visited our local board game group in Lincoln and got introduced to Stone Age, my first euro game and got introduced to BGG and haven't looked back.
Over the last year or two of board gaming, having played a variety of games, its those games that evoke social interaction , good story , with great replayability that we tend to enjoy the most.
Which generally means, i can watch as many reviews and rule explanations as there can be and still be pleasantly surprised by a game.
Currently thinking about trimming my collection due to space.
Therefore have begun reviewing my own BGG ratings given to games this year (2014). This got me thinking. Based on BGG rating, would you want every game you own to be a 8-10. With that many games, wanting to be played, constantly, you just wouldn't know what to pick!.
Some games I really enjoy are played rarely, but are A real joy when you do. For example, Twilight Imperium is a great game but one that I couldn't or wouldn't want to play too often.
Currently working on a new way of rating games (well i was !)
