No, I'm not Shannon, I'm Shannon's father Jim (jcarvin here on BGG). I started a profile for Shannon less than three weeks after her birth. A truly geeky thing to do, I know. Hopefully she can look back at this someday and see that her old man didn't neglect or ignore her.
Once she hit 3 she was old enough to play and appreciate some games. By the time she was 4-5 she actually had an opinion about them too. Now that she's 8 she's grown into more adult games, especially what I'd consider gateway games like Zooloretto and Ticket to Ride.
I initially rated her games as I saw fit based of how she reacted to a game and how much she wanted to play it over and over again. Now she chooses her own ratings. I also try to track her game plays even though it ends up being mostly just games that I've played with her. She plays other games with her Aunt and Grandmother that I just can't possibly keep track of. (Frankly, I'm not geek enough to ask them to track every game she plays either!)
So consider this profile for what it is. A 3-9 year-old's perspective as documented by her (now) 43 year-old father. Hopefully she'll pick up the baton one day and run with it but if nothing else we're having fun with it now.
