I've played boardgames all my life but my first computer game was Adventure on a VAX mainframe many many moons ago (remember those "twisty little passages"?)
I have been a hardware geek (Sun/HP/DEC/you name it), software geek (UNIX) and SciFi nerd but currently live on a ranch northeast of Seattle WA where I raise a few kinds of critters and enjoy boardgaming once a week or more with local meetup.com gamers.(My group - Cheers, where everybody knows your game! - meets up in Redmond WA, home to Microsoft.)
Here on BGG I'm adicted to Tigris and Euphrates online and play it daily. My preferences run to strategy and euro style gaming with a penchant for unique game mechanics involving very little luck.
