Check out my latest absurd ongoing project: The Word of the Day! (An ongoing project).
And my previous two long-term geeklists: This Day in Pre-History
and This Day - EVERY DAY - in History (a 366-Item Geeklist, Eventually).
I'm a wargamer. I especially like games at the grand strategy level. I'd rather spend hours conquering entire countries than fighting over a tractor factory. This is probably because I'm bad at tactics!
I also enjoy Euros, civilization games, and other non-wargames, and I own quite a few of them. Euros are fine when you can't get a wargame going! I used to play a LOT
of RPGs (specifically D&D back in the day, and Warhammer before it became a miniatures empire) but not in ages. Way back when, I used to painstakingly draft entire new leagues with APBA Baseball; later on I did the same with Pursue the Pennant.
I painted a miniature figure once and that was enough.
Until somebody can prove otherwise, I still say I'm the only person to ever play World in Flames in Mongolia (my opponent was in the US) and I retain the title, President for Life, WIF Club of Mongolia.
Avatar note: Kim Jong Il from "Team America". Why? Because it's funny! I am not a North Korean tyrant, although I do have a nuclear weapons program in my garage. (Law enforcement people: that's a joke.)
This is me, after an accident...(Flag counter added 22 June 2010)
