I have been gaming for just over 30 years. As you can see from the meager collection posted on my profile, I have a very eclectic taste in games. In the early 80's I started playing D&D and then got into some of the common board games of that era, such as Kingmaker, Diplomacy, Car Wars, Federation Space, etc. Soon after I was introduced to Battletech (still one of my favorite games of all time) and made the jump into miniatures gaming. To this day I still play all manner of tabletop games - RPGs, miniatures, board games, and party games.
As indicated by my game rankings, there are few games I've played that I have not liked to some degree. Miniatures wargamming is probably my favorite genre, although I get to play in it the least due to group size restrictions and the time commitment involved, especially for prep. Since I have a job, a wife, a home, and 2 kids (5 and 8) my game time is fairly limited. I usually schedule occasional RPG sessions and then a couple of board game nights each month. My group tends to play shorter games nowadays (1-4 hours) as we no longer seem to the patience for the endurance length games anymore. The games I like the most typically have a good combination of theme, skill, and luck and will give a result that tells a good story.
I have recently started playing games with my children, including titles such as My First Carcassonne, Viva Topo, Loopin Louie, and so on.
