Knizia tile-laying trilogy 
An informal categorization of three tile-laying games by Reiner Knizia, all originally published in 1997 and 1998, but by 2 different publishers. Knizia has mentioned in interviews that he never considered them to be a trilogy. Other Knizia games involve tile laying, such as Stephensons Rocket (published shortly after the "trilogy") and Ingenious.
