Japan Game Awards is the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's awards ceremony for the Japanese video game industry. It was created in 1996 as CESA Awards (Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association). The award ceremony helps to promote Japan's domestic industry against increasing foreign developer competition.

Notes: "Game of the Year" and "Best Unreleased Game" receive multiple winners in a single year.
