In Pixel Lincoln: Re-Election, we are making a user-created Pixel Lincoln card. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gamesalute/pixel-lincoln...
and help create the card with the steps below. Thanks!

You know what Pixel Lincoln loves? DEMOCRACY. The power to put choice into the hands of The People - in other words, you - seeing what they want and doing his very best to achieve that. And now you're getting the power to decide on a Custom Item that will be included in the game. But what do you need to do? Simple:

1. Go here --> http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07e8nhv7wphp1k8rdd...

2. Choose your favourite THREE possibilities and remember to click the magical 'Finish' button.

3. Ummmm...

4. That's it!

When the vote closes in a few days, the number one choice will be revealed and included in the final print of the game. Make the 16-bit President happier than ever before and exercise your right to vote TODAY!

Originally posted at the Pixel Lincoln: Re-Election Kickstarter blog. Yes, Pixel Lincoln is back on Kickstarter, in the second most important campaign of his life.... Re-Election! It's a full-sized expansion for the side-scrolling adventure game and needs your vote pledge.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gamesalute/pixel-lincoln...

Level 2-3 is all about THE VOTE. So, I wanted to include a card that is designed by you, the people who have graciously backed this project.

Each card has an image, title, category, power, value, ability, cost, and points. We're going to come up with all of that right here, then vote on our favorites.

The first thing we need to figure out is what it's going to be. Let us know in the comments here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gamesalute/pixel-lincoln...

What is your dream Pixel Lincoln weapon?

You could simply take the easy way out (ahem....) and choose a piece of meat and mash it up with a classic D&D weapon, but we aren't limited to that. Use your imagination! Also remember that Item can also mean movement. Double Jump is technically an item card.

With considering an item there are a few limitations:

1) Stay clean!
2) Consider size! (Lincoln is about 40 pixels tall. That doesn't leave room for tiny details)
3) Consider the frame! (It can't be too large. Use previous cards as a guideline)
It's easy enough. Add as many suggestions as you would like in the comments, and we'll go from there. You don't need to suggest abilities at this point, but if you have ideas, feel free to share them.

Thanks everyone. Have fun with this.

Hey friends! Town Hall is a new feature moderated by Mike Mullins (@bluedevilduke). Expect custom levels, custom cards and other awesome user-generated content. Mike is kicking it off with two Thanksgiving-inspired custom levels of his own for you to try out. Thanks Mike!

"Have you ever wondered what Thanksgiving is like in a pixilated president's house? Try the two custom levels below, and let us know what you think!" - Mike

Pixel Whigs vs Luchadors

The Luchadors are the fastest team in the league, and to compete the Whigs will need some quick hands and agile moves. Mr President is also a master strategist, and his breath weapons let him execute his gameplan to perfection.

Enemies
Luchador x 5
Throwing Luchador x 5
Luchador Turret x 5

Items
Boxing Glove x 5
Double Jump x 5
Fire Breath x 3
Ice Breath x 2

The Luchador’s mascot and the halftime show performer are formidable foes!
Mini-Boss - Pigeon Man
Boss - Bandatron

The Whigs are way over the salary cap this year.
Characters
Bunker - lineman
Legacy - quarterback
Tachyon - running back

“Expressed written consent to record the game? I’m the president! And I don't care if using slow-mo will ruin the tape, watch how I totally creamed this Luchador."
Secret Item - VHS tape
Cheat Code - Slow Motion

Thanksgiving Dinner

Mary always goes all out for Thanksgiving, taking the turducken to another level with her famous sausage stuffing. Her cranberry sauce, however, is pretty abysmal. Even worse, several wild animals are attempting to stop this meat feast, and it appears that the housecat has joined them!

Enemies
Exploding Pigeon x 5
Puking Turtle x 5
Bunny Bomb x 3
Tommy Cat x 1
Slime x 1

Items
Hot Turkey Leg (not released yet, but you can print your own here http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-aOYTvcbWJTw/UpdaXj74JoI/AAAAAAAAI4...)
Duck x 5
Chicken Cannon x 5
Sausage Link Whip x 5

Lincoln’s nemesis cannot think of a better time to strike than when the president is loaded down with turkey. And mashed potatoes. And gravy. Oh, soooo much gravy...
Mini-Boss - Booth
Boss - Robooth

Nobody should be alone on thanksgiving! Lincoln is surrounded by friends and family to help preserve the delicious meal.
Characters
Flip the Table
Father Geek
American Geek Mom

An extra secret item? It is a holiday, after all. Pull up a chair and have seconds or thirds. Please do take off that ridiculous hat at the table though. Honestly, I’ve told you over and over again.
Secret Item - Sit
Cheat Code - Silly Hat Mode

If you missed out on Pixel Lincoln before, we have 4 days left of our playing card campaign on Kickstarter. There you can get the playing cards, a full copy of the Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game, all expansion cards (plus some new ones), and even custom character cards. The game has been very well reviewed, and the final product turned out amazing. We're so close to funding, but we can use any help we can get!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincol...

ONTO THE UNBOXING

Last week, the final review copy of the game arrived for my review and I can't say much more other than how amazing it turned out. The colors are perfect, the quality of the components is perfect. Overall, I was very impressed.

Now that everything has been approved the game should be shipping out of China within the next week or so, and soon enough it'll arrive in the US, and soonafter it'll be in your hands. I cannot wait for it to get here so everyone can start playing the game.

My iPhone doesn't do it justice… but here's a video of the unboxing of the final print.

We're back with another Pixel Lincoln: Twenty-One sneak preview! PL:21 is new mini-expansion for Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game. It's made up of 21 cards and inspired by classic playing cards as well as the upcoming release of the Pixel Lincoln Bicycle playing card deck. And funding on Kickstarter right now.

Link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincol...

UPDATE: We're currently 74% funded!
Just 6 days left and $2000 to go. And $2500 until we reach our awesome Boss Monster King Croak stretch goal.

Today's card is a new character: The Queen!

Click for larger text, or scroll below.

Quote:
CHARACTER - QUEEN
Another character that was inspired by classic playing cards is the Queen.
Alongside the Jack, King and Joker, she is one of the 4 new characters in Pixel Lincoln: Twenty One.

The Queen has a new achievement-style ability, drifting from the standard set-collection and end-game rewards that characters usually provide.

Although the Queen has plenty of money of her own, she wants to see you spend your hard-earned cash. She will give you 5 points when you purchase 3 cards in one turn, which can be pretty tough being poor little Pixel Lincoln.

Stay tuned for more cards. Tomorrow is another one of Booth's many faces!

If you missed Monday's card reveal:

Pixel Lincoln vs. Boss Monster! For real this time.

I've talked before about my impressions after playing Boss Monster and the idea of a Pixel Lincoln/Boss Monster crossover. You can read those thoughts here.

Pixel Lincoln is part of the Boss Monster: Creator Pack, and now we have the opportunity to add a Boss Monster character into Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game.

From our most recent Kickstarter update:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincol...

Hey there! We're eeking towards our goal (big thanks to all of you) and I wanted to introduce something that we've had planned for a while now and finally have the opportunity to implement.

A few months back we learned about Boss Monster, a pixelated side-scrolling dungeon adventure, where you play as the boss instead of the hero. It was very opposite of Pixel Lincoln in that way. Since opposites attract, we quickly formed a special connection with Brotherwise Games and Pixel Lincoln was offered as a stretch goal hero in their mega-campaign.

At the same time, we teased our image of King Croak as a final boss for Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game, but our campaign was already over and we didn't have an immediate outlet to release King Croak.

NOW THINGS HAVE CHANGED! The timing is just right with Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game and Boss Monster's releases on the horizon. So we'd like to announce that our first stretch goal at $8500 is to include the King Croak card in with all pledges of $10 and up.

King Croak is an 8 Power enemy (the highest power yet), so he will be a tough match for Lincoln. Expect some killer boss battles.

Please help spread the word so we can reach the $8500 stretch goal and get everyone a cool King Croak card. We have more awesome stretch goal cards planned beyond this one too.

Just 8 days left and $2302 to go. Also today we announced that we are bringing back custom character cards! You can get a personalized card of yourself as a character in the Pixel Lincoln universe. These were a huge hit last time and we have so much fun making them. Check out the most recent update for all of the details. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/springboard/pixel-lincol...

Today's card is an alternate Player 1 starting card: Shifty Face Lincoln!

Click for larger text, or scroll below.

Quote:
PLAYER 1 - PIXEL LINCOLN
To give each player a little variation, we’ve made 4 alternate starting Lincoln cards. Each features a different facial expression, starting with this one that we like to call “Shifty Face Lincoln”.

This is the face of Lincoln holding a Royal Flush. He’s trying so hard to hold it in, but can’t control his eyebrows. That, or he can see that they’re serving bacon across the room.

These set the tone of the Deckbuilding game before you even start. Not only do you choose a number and a color, you can choose a mood. Will you start the game angry, nervous, confused, or shifty?

I think these will be a lot of fun and I assume there will be some fighting over Shifty Face Lincoln. We liked the face so much, it made the cover of our playing card deck.

UPDATE: We're currently 70% funded!
Just 9 days left and $2357 to go. We're into the scary single digits, but working our way up to our goal. Thanks to everyone who spread the word this weekend. Keep an eye on the campaign tomorrow because we have a big announcement for fans of the game.

Today's card is... an all-new, all-mad version of our favorite jokester, Patches the Clown!

Click for larger text, or scroll below.

Quote:
CHARACTER - PATCHES THE CLOWN
We’ve seen Patches before, but never like this..

In Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game he was an ex-con clown who gave you points for collecting other cards. That was pretty nice of him.

But now he is taking points from your opponents if they don’t collect specific cards. Not so nice anymore, unless you are the one paying him off. He’s kind of like an assassin, but terribly disguised, and armed with a rubber chicken and balloon animals.

Watch your back when Patches is in the room!

Now instead of alternate art, you'll notice that Patches has an alternate ability. The reason for that is Patches (plus 3 other joker-types) show up in the Pixel Lincoln playing card deck as Jokers. We made 4 Jokers to set the deck apart from others and allow for some special tricks. So in creating PL:21, I wanted to make them a little trickier than normal and mess with the other players.

Just 10 days left and $2814 to go. I should mention that the expansion is just $10, and if you missed it the first time around, you can pledge for the full Deckbuilding game, all previous expansions and add-ons and of course, the Bicycle playing card deck.

Today's card is... Booth?

Click for larger text, or scroll below.

Quote:
MINI BOSS - BOOTH
You may have been wondering why a long-haired, shirtless, loin-cloth-wearing, Yanni look-alike has been appearing on Pixel Lincoln cards. It’s actually Booth in one of his many costume changes, and this time he is channeling his inner Tarzan.

This is one of the alternate art cards that we made to mix things up a little. It’s fun to swap in, and also a nod to the Pixel Lincoln Bicycle deck. There, Lincoln and Booth make up the face cards in an epic battle of beard vs. mustache.

There are 3 more Booth cards to reveal. Luckily enough they are all less revealing than this one.

Hope you like these alternate art cards. I've loved the Booth costume changes from the very first time I saw them, and I'm so excited that we had a way to get them into the game. BUT ONLY IF IT FUNDS! (Sorry got excited and nervous and everything else that comes along with a Kickstarter campaign).

Special thanks to everyone who pledged yesterday! We had $132 in funding yesterday and we're currently at 68% of our $8000 goal. Still an uphill battle, but we're equipped with lots of meat and plan to fight to the last bite.

Today's card is the good old, weird, JACK.

Click for larger text, or scroll below.

Quote:
CHARACTER: JACK
Jack is one of four new Pixel Lincoln characters inspired by classic playing cards. He looks funny and he also has a new type of reward that will resolve mid-game (more like an achievement than our standard end game rewards).

Jacks are often tricksters or rogues, so our Jack offers points for defeating a boss from a distance. If a player hangs back and builds up enough projectile weapons to defeat a boss, not only will he get the 10 points for the boss, but he’ll get an extra 5 for being an awesome Knave.

And we all want to be an awesome Knave, right?

The tracking on these new mid-game rewards can be done by turning the card to it's side (can we do that WOTC?) or by placing a penny on top.

And if you missed yesterday's card reveal:
