Stats for January, and the Solo Boarding Google Calendar

My game stats for this January:

https://boardgamegeek.com/plays/bygame/user/BilboAtBagEnd/su...

I played... quite a lot of unique games. In the coming months this will solidify into a better schedule to accommodate upcoming episodes of Solo Boarding.

My dime for this month was Lord of the Rings: The Adventure Deck Game, a LotR-themed print-and-play push-your-luck game that involves a deck of cards, some tokens, and a small game mat. I love it very much, and the only reason it hasn't seen more play is that I need to come up with a more portable box for it.

Some of my nickels:

Endless Nightmare, the best push-your-luck game I have ever played, and that it's solitaire makes it all the more sweet. This count is for both the basic and the active game. I still have trouble with playing this consistently due to the all-too-immersive nature of its theme (nightmares). I reviewed it as well: https://boardgamegeek.com/video/61787/endless-nightmare/solo...

Castles of Mad King Ludwig, which follows on from my playtesting in December of a very alpha "Phantom Builders" solo variant. Thankfully the new variant is much better and more succinct, and doesn't require a plethora of dungeon dice: Phantom Builders: Automating Builder Turns for Solo and Possible Multiplayer Play, In Development

Core Worlds, which I played first for enjoyment and then in preparation for the first in a series of tutorial videos for SoloPlay variants by

Microbadge: Citizenship Recognition - Level I - One small step for geek... One giant leap for geek-kind!Microbadge: Citizenship Recognition - Level III - Are we geeks because we gaze at the stars, or do we gaze at them because we are geeks?Microbadge: Solitaire GamerMicrobadge: Citizenship Recognition - Level IV - The journey of a thousand crits begins with a single roll...Microbadge: Citizenship Recognition - Level II - If I have seen further, it's only by standing on the apex of other's dice.

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game, which were mostly playtests of A Long Expected Party, a scenario I'm currently developing. You can track the progress at A Long Expected Party: LotR:TCG Pre-Saga Adventures.

Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition), where I'm currently enjoying RedJak's v3 automated overlord in combination with the first quests from the base game (but mixing in everything from later expansions, though I'm not using the lieutenants yet).

This month saw three reviews:

Doctor Who: Solitaire Story Game: https://boardgamegeek.com/video/60177/doctor-who-solitaire-s...
Onirim (Second Edition): https://boardgamegeek.com/video/60970/onirim-second-edition/...
Spell Saga: https://boardgamegeek.com/video/61350/spell-saga/solo-boardi...

All in all, a relatively productive month, despite being slowed down by my PTSD acting up for over half of the days.

Edit: The Solo Boarding calendar! I nearly forgot! It'll update to February proper at midnight PST.

Here's to next month!

Some games I'll never get rid of because of the same reasons behind an XKCD comic I saw a while back.
