This is the blog formally known as GamesByRich.com:Classic Games Redefined blog. It focuses the thoughts of the design process of Rich Hutnik and other things Rich, gaming related (pretty much), finds interesting. It has been changed to reflect a clear focus in regards to what is being worked on, and also in relation to the new name for the YouTube channel.

In this video, I ponder if No Man's Sky was fully what people thought it was, I wouldn't still be playing it, no matter how great it is. It is a matter of things going on, and my desire for other things. Feel free to plug another game of choice in the comments below.

Anyhow, here is the video:

I created a Geeklist to look at the boundaries of the area between wargames and abstract strategy games, and also the abstraction of war in games. You can see the Geeklist here:

https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/218517/abstraction-war-di...

Edit: I have tweaked the name of the Geeklist also to be "Abstractions of War in Games...". I added "in Games" to it. Not that big of a deal, but ti is what it is.

Cyvasse is a Chess-like game in the Game of Thrones universe. Looking over the game Feudal, I could see if could serve as a basis for a game of Cyvasse. Any thoughts?

I look at how to use Checker pieces in other ways, and also show how to use the version of Checkers I use in Double Draughts in Chess, complete with a suggested initial set up.
