Next up - having fallen out of a Jiffy and on to my lap via the medium of 'the eBays' - is LOBO.
While I can't find any reference as to the origin of the name - perhaps a concatenation of LOndon BO...erm no, I have nothing) - it's thrown around the rulebook like it was a 'thing' in the 1930s. Seeing as it's a rummy variant, with the 'sets' dictated by Junction cards (the ones with the circular name of a station), they needed something to call out at the climax.
The pic is a bit faded, but this is a sturdy little box with a silk 'lifter' ribbon too: luxury!
https://www.davros.org/rail/lobo/ has a little more info.
The best bit about it are the references to stations that no longer exist on the Tube; lost, but not entirely forgotten.
