I thought about writing a small post about games played and received during Christmas holidays.
This year we spent Christmas Eve at my sister-in-law's place, and she had asked us to bring a few games with us. We had bought Wits & Wagers and Say Anything, because we thought they might be light enough after dinner. When you're stuffed with food, you might not be able to concentrate to anything too heavy. And well, no matter what the situation is, some of our family members aren't really gamers. But, it was a fun evening. We also played some Wii golf, which was nice.

Here in Finland we open our presents on Christmas Eve. Usually after dinner. We sat down to the living room and dealt the presents and when I saw some of my packages, I was quite sure some of them were games. I did get other lovely stuff, but I have to admit, the games were the ones I was looking forward the most.

My first game related gift was Zooloretto: The Dice Game, which was a fun surprise. We have already played few games, and it seems like a fun filler. It's quite small, so I can take it with me practically anywhere I go. I was also happy to see that my German wasn't as rusted as I thought it might be.

The second game I got was the new edition of Taluva! Awesome! I have been wanting this game for such a long time, and now I finally got it. And what a bummer, my copy is missing some components. I sent Ferti an e-mail and hope to get some replacements. Well anyway, Taluva is good.

Another game I also got was Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game, which was an amazing suprise from my fiancé. I have no idea when we'll be able to get this to the table, but I'm sure the time will come.

We also got some expansions to Carcassonne from my mother-in-law, which was quite funny, because we got the base game for her as a present. So a lot of Carcassonne goodies for everybody.

A friend of ours got us a gift certificate to our favorite game store, and today we went by to look for something fun. I wanted to get Escape: The Curse of the Temple, but they didn't have it. Then I saw the new Galaxy Trucker: Another Big Expansion. We love GT so that would surely be fun. Don't know how I ended up not taking the GT expansion, but something happened and I ended up with Seasons in my hands. And it looks pretty! We have a game night planned for New Year's Eve, so maybe this will hit the table then!

I predict there's some good gaming going to happen next year
