Games, games and more games!
Last Friday was definitely a farming game evening. We started with Walnut Grove, which promptly went on our trade/sale list (if anyone wants it for £20 do let me know!) - it's just not that an interesting game, although it has some nice ideas. James arrived unexpectedly just as we were starting the first round, so was able to join in.
Sami won, and chose Agricola for the next game. It was a very resource heavy game, with very few family growths early on, despite it coming out early, and everyone getting messed up by timing issues, as the resource piles were just too tempting not to take! It was a joint win between Sami and I in the end.
Next came Stone Age. I got a really fast start, with lots of green scoring cards and drilling one hut deck, but then couldn't end the game and Sami had an amazing last two rounds and ended just a handful of points behind. James however was set up for a long game that never happened!
After that we were looking for something lighter, so Sami suggested 7 Wonders. Sami went science heavy, and there was only so much the players to either side could do to stop him. All the rest of us got a reasonable number of points from other methods - Marion from her Pyramids, Sami and I more from blue and guilds - but Marion and Sami also won the military race, so Sami won, again!!
James left at that point, and King of Tokyo was suggested to finish. I started by going into Tokyo, and then rolling 6 claws - but although that was an impressive start, I was unable to follow it up with anything more, so rapidly went out, and Sami won again.
