iOS Board Games

Among the best things in life is playing printed games in person with family and close friends. When those are not convenient we like iOS Board Games. News, reviews, previews, and opinions about board gaming on iPhones, iPads, iPods and even Android devices. (iPhone board games, iPad board games, iPod board games, Android board games)

It has previously been mentioned here last week by David Neumann that
Stone Blade Entertainment would be starting their Kickstarter project for an Android version of their deck building game Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer. Well, their Kickstarter is now live. It can be found at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1965800643/ascension-onl.... In addition to the Android version, this Kickstarter also covers a PC release of the game.

Some of the highlights:

Online Tournaments
They describe that they want to build the back end to support online tournaments, both casual events or larger high profile tournaments.

Campaign Mode versus AI
Not everyone may be interested in online tournaments, but they are also going to be providing an AI with a campaign mode if you want to go solo.

Free to Download the Base game
They are looking to provide the ability to have anyone get started by playing the base game for free.

Rewards There are many different reward levels that provide both digital and physical promo cards, decks, or expansions. Also available are shirts, art, and more. Check out the Kickstarter page for all the details.

This is a rather fast campaign for them, and is only slated to last 10 days. Their goal is $125,000. As of my writing of this, they are at 50,000. Stone Blade Entertainment mentions that they have received countless comments via Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere asking when Ascension was coming to Android. A successful campaign for them will provide the answer to that question which would be "By the end of 2013."
