Andrew had another Glass Road solo challenge for me, so again I attempt to beat his score, which was 26 1/2 points this time. Interested parties (both of you ) can see the starting buildings & stacked tiles on my previous blog post.
Looking at the starting buildings, I can see a bit of a combo with the Charcoal Kiln / Forest Hut / Coal Facility / Coal Storage, and some nice straight up points with the Country House and Winery. But, even if I max my ending coal & the built resources, those buildings alone would give me 29 1/2 points - that's if I max EVERYTHING that scores points, which I've never managed to do, so probably more like 20 points realistically from that combo. So, I think I want to hit the Feudal Lord early & often to draw some better choices out.
As before - cards are listed in the order played, all caps indicates both abilities used, parentheses indicates either an unused card or a building built.
First round - Supplier, FEUDAL LORD (Pit Worker)
Second round - Pond Builder, Slash-and-Burn Farmer, BUILDER (Storage, then Cooperage) (Clay Worker)
Third round - Charcoal Burner, Feudal Lord, Pit Worker, WOODCUTTER (Cultivator)
Fourth round - Pond Builder, Clay Worker, Forest Manager, Fuel Collector, BUILDER (Country House, Spring House) (Slash-and-Burn Farmer)
Fifth round - Cultivator, FISH FARMER (Pit Worker)
Sixth round - Clay Worker, Pond Builder, WOODCUTTER (Supplier)
Seventh round - Cultivator, Builder (Floodgate), Feudal Lord, CARPENTER (Forest Hut) (Pit Worker)
An absolutely dreadful 21 1/2 points I got WAY over ambitious and put too many actions into the Floodgate, ending with a total of 8 ponds for 8 points, but it cost me too many other things I think. Ugh!
I gotta start gaming a little earlier in the day! Or start drinking coffee late at night! Yeah, maybe that last one isn't such a hot idea...
