not much of a fun scenario for the French at the best of times, and these weren't the best of times. Despite getting the french cavalry into action, their complete failure to hit anything meant that the French didn't even score respectably. One French HC went into battle, rolled 5d for 1 hit, pursuit, another 5d for 1 hit, and 2d coming back was 2 hits.

2nd French HC rolled 4d & 4d, chasing a 1 strength British LC off the map (but not a hit to he had). French could roll flags. Oddly the squares held firm, and the infantry did OK. Just needed dice that could hit.

After 45 minutes play, game over, but we both had pretty much run out of cards to play by that stage, the vacant flank occupying the majority of held cards.
