As a teen, in the 80s, I used to play wargames (solo) and designed some games. Mostly wargames, about battles I couldn't find games about or battles I wanted to give my personal take to. But some sports games too, among them BASKETmind. I moved to France, got married, had kids... and left the gaming world for years. Until 2004, when my brother-in-law offered me Memoir'44! Then my gaming souvenirs came back to my mind, I discovered BGG, and saw that games had evolved a lot and that many people played them!
Over the latest years I've built a relatively big collection, and tried to update to "the world of today" my favorite design: BASKETmind. I uploaded the game to BGG, entered it in nestorgames geeklist, and more than 100 users "thumbed" the design: it was published!!! So that made of me officially a "game designer", 30 years later! Very happy, specially seeing how other people have welcomed the game. I had play-tested it over the years, but I was always there to explain the rules. I was a bit afraid of that, but apparently the blind tests have been positive.
Once the huge step of the first publication past, publishing my second game, TETRARCHIA, has been relatively easy. I had the idea in June 2015, worked on it through the summer holidays, and the game was published by November! Again with nestorgames, my only experience with the publisher world but a very good one, I'm not willing to change. The game has been very well received, and it has a potential wider audience: it plays from 1 to 4 players, in about 30 min, it is cooperative but with a competitive variant... I have already an extension ready to go.
I'm currently working (in the few time I have) on a soccer game, and have a good starting idea for a World War II cooperative game...

I left those ideas aside for a moment and designed a game about my third passion (and job), science! The name is Big*Bang, an abstract game with few and simple rules that describes rather well the very first minutes of our Universe! I am proud of a design that was inspired by the laws of Physics and that has lead to a gameplay that evokes them and makes players feel like witnessing the aftermath of the Big Bang. The design period was even shorter for this my third game, just one month!
