Maureen Berman Hiron is also an author who has written about bridge and trivia. She was married to Alan Hiron (1933-1999) who was the Bridge Correspondent for London newspaper The Independent, the editor of Bridge Magazine, and the winner of the London Schools Chess Championship in 1949. The two were married in 1983 and have written a number of trivia books together. The year before they were married, they formed Hiron Games to market and manufacture the game Continuo along with later games such as Cavendish and Quizwrangle. Maureen was usually the game designer while Alan was the game tester and refiner. In the early 1990s, the Hirons moved to the south of Spain for the better climate where her husband died in Malaga, Spain on June 7, 1999.
