Hi! I'm Joe Sallen, and I love playing games. I love talking about games as much if not more than playing them. I tossed out the idea of a podcast at my game group, and I was lucky enough to sucker in Trent Hamm and Jonathan Pierce (and now Andy Denison) to start one up with me. We are The Good, The Board, and The Ugly.
We hail from central Iowa, and we fortunately get the chance to play together once a week on average. On top of that, each of us has other groups that we meet with throughout the week. This way, we can offer opinions on many games we have played together as well as discuss games that only one or two of us have played.
Our flagship podcast involves us each discussing a game we have played and a game we are looking forward to. In the midst of that we tackle topics relevant to the hobby, such as slanderous terms, component successes and fails, or board game etiquette.
Jonathan is a self proclaimed "Geek of All Trades". He spends most of his days trying to wish a new season of Firefly into existence.
Trent Hamm is who I have deemed our "Game Mage". He will play literally anything. Except Chaos Marauders and The Hunger Games: Training Days.
Andy plays only heavy games. He's never played Dominion, a fact he wears with pride.
I, Joe Sallen, am the group Game Snob. I have a tendency to frown upon games that are not of a certain caliber. That means any game with a cube being used for anything besides representing resources isn't actually a game to me. Also, I will literally talk forever if left unchecked.
Hope you like our podcast, and comment on our forums!
Praise for The Good, the Board, and the Ugly:
