Grow Jogos e Brinquedos is a Brazilian gaming and toy company, focused mostly on board games and puzzles.
In 1972, four graduated students of the Polytechnic School of São Paulo -Gerald Reiss, Roberto Schussel, Oded Grajew and Valdir Rovai- created War, based on Reiss ideas for modification's of Risk, which he had fall in love with in a recent trip to Europe.
The same year, they founded Grow Jogos e Brinquedos, which initially invested in the market for adult games, little explored in the country in those years. The name GROW is an adaptation of the junction of the first letters of the initials of the founders - Gerald, Roberto, Oded and Valdir. The "V" was replaced with the "W" for the sake of "sonority".
In a short period of time, War became successful within city limits. The company initially operated in a garage in the neighborhood of Mooca and the games, produced in small quantities, were assembled manually by the four partners. They themselves offered their products to toy stores.
Today, the factory is located in São Bernardo do Campo and produces about 300 different toys for children and adults.
