MK interaction guide.pdf (15.82 MB)
There are plenty of aids showing you what can be done at certain sites, but having recently played with some new players, the question that comes up is not "what can I do there?" but rather "where can I do that?" It's pretty clear where you can go slay some stuff, but less clear what all your interaction options are. So I created this one-sheet that summarizes all the different sites you can spend influence and what it'd get you. Please let me know what I messed up!

Mage Knight Board Game:: Mage Knight - Solo Progress Checklist / Score Tracker By: ShelleyJones
Mage Knight - Solo Progress Checklist _ Score Tracker.xlsx (8 KB)
Hi all,

I'm a new player and I wanted something to keep track of my solo progress in Mage Knight. Not sure if this has been done before, didn't look for it.

I made this Excel Sheet so you can record your scores with all of the Mage's for all of the solo scenarios.
I have also included a tab for fan made scenarios that I found when searching through some of the uploaded Solo Scenario Books on BGG. I have included links to the Solo Scenario Books in the document for quick reference.

I also thought about adding another tab for fan made campaigns to keep track of which campaigns you've completed with each Mage. If you'd like these added let me know which ones are popular or that you like and that can be done. I did notice 3 campaigns in version 3 of the Solo Scenario Book.

If I have missed anything or if anything needs fixing let me know and I'll be happy to do so.

I hope new players find this helpful/useful.

Good luck!

Mage Knight Board Game:: Mage Knight Chart (double sided) By: Khelz
MKChartV4.5.pdf (1.25 MB)
Version 4.5:

- Added a note regarding glades and "imbued magic" at the beginning of a turn.

- Clarified a note regarding the common skill offer in the level up phase (the selected skill must belong to another player).

- Clarified a note regarding the gain of a unit after a combat during the level up phase, when a new command token becomes available. (The new command token can be used in the same turn for that unit only if the unit was gained in combat, but not after an influence action).

- Specified the reputation gain for orc marauders (+1) and draconum (+2)

I expect this version to be a stable one, so if you want to have it printed you can probably go ahead.
Dec 15, 2020
MKChartV4.4.pdf (1.24 MB)
- Clarified the note regarding "Healing": used the proper terminology of "throwing away" a card instead of "removing". Also added wound icons to be consistent with the rest of the document instead of using "wound" keyword.

- Clarified the "Clear Play Area" section following a question that came up.
May 22, 2020
MKChartV4.3.pdf (1.24 MB)
Version 4.3:

- Clarified "Clear Play Area" (on request): Replaced "Discard any non-wound cards (min 1 if no card was played)" by "Discard any # of non-wound cards (min 1 if no card was played)".

- Clarified Forced Withdrawal (which doesn't apply when failing to conquer a fortified site).

- Very slight layout improvement: modified the colour of the "Refresh" notes (in new round and dummy player sections) to be consistent with the "On Card Gain" note, since they are somewhat related.

- Very slight layout improvement in the Ranged/Siege box to make it easier to read ("fortified twice" => both words in bold).
May 21, 2020
MKChartV4.2.pdf (1.24 MB)
Version 4.2:

- Enriched and corrected the specific wording when performing a single big attack on multiple enemies.
May 13, 2020
MKChartV4.1.pdf (1.24 MB)
Version 4.1:

- Moved "Forced Withdrawal" from the turn chart because in some rare cases it can apply even when player is resting (e.g. if Mountain Lore was previously used); added it as a note.

- Added some details in the "Multiple Attacks" note, to clarify what happens when one big attack against several units is performed (fortification and resistances on one enemy also apply to all other enemies involved).

- Added a note in the level up chart related to the competitive skill.
May 13, 2020
MKChartV4.pdf (1.24 MB)
Version 4:

- Added new information to Dummy Player chart when playing Solo Mode (usage of skill tokens when the player performs a skill level up).

- Added new information to Dummy Player chart when playing Solo Conquest Scenario, regarding the usage of tactic cards.

- Added a precision related to the Dummy Player (when the deed deck contains only 1 or 2 cards).

- Added an important note on first page regarding offers (Action & Spell offers are replenished directly, unit offer is only replenished each round).

- Replaced "inefficient (halved)" in abilities tables by "halved rounded down" for clarity purposes, so this detail doesn't have to be looked up in the rules.

- Added a description about the paralysis effect on the Hero (request)

- Some very slight layout enhancements here and there.
May 9, 2020
MKChartV3.1.pdf (1.24 MB)
Version 3.1:
- Fixed an issue where a note was slightly overlapping on text
- Simplified "Orc Marauders & Draconum" to "Rampaging Enemies" to make it more universal and make more space on the sheet
- Aligned two images that were slightly overlapping on table limits
May 7, 2020
MKChartV3.pdf (1.24 MB)
Improved layout:
- KO specific rule merged with "Assign Damage Details"
- Now all tables are properly grouped together
May 6, 2020
MKChartV2.pdf (1.24 MB)
V2: Added a section describing the Knock-Out rule + fixed a typo.
May 6, 2020
MKChartV1.pdf (1.24 MB)
Flowchart approach to the rules. I wanted something very visual to help me during my adventures, so I've created this document.

You will find that a lot of useful information is condensed on this single printable recto/verso document. Rounds, Turns, Actions, Level Up, Dummy Player, as well as enemy and units iconography. However I didn't include PvP rules because I don't play PvP (yet).

I thought this could help other people, so I'm sharing. I will probably keep updating it the deeper I dig the specificities of the expansions in order to keep the most relevant information easily accessible, and will also take requests into account (if any).

Custom Campaign that consists in five scenarios for Solo or Cooperative play (2 players). I already have everything in mind and I'm putting ideas on paper. Therefore, I'd like to share the first scenario with you for now; if someone decides to give it a try and give me some feedback later about the theme, fluff and difficulty, it'll be really appreciated! Probably further balances and tweaks about mechanics and difficulty may be implemented but I need some feedback yet from testers.
Minor grammar mistakes will be fixed soon.

Mage Knight Board Game:: Extended City Levels to 24 By: Trevin
Extended City Levels 2.pdf (37 KB)
I created this chart a few years ago, after working on the chart of Volkare’s levels. It’s based on the same principle of assigning a certain difficulty to each enemy token color, and ensuring that the levels scale up the difficulty smoothly while only using the tokens normally seen in each city.

Posting this now in response to a related question in the forums about a level 24 Megapolis.

Mage Knight Board Game:: Faction Token/Crystal Color Reference Card By: Tardigrade Matsuri
Faction_Token-Crystal_Color_Reference_Card_V1.pdf (62 KB)
One side of this reference card summarizes the rules for the Faction Tokens from the Shades of Tezla expansion. The other side lists the colors of red and green crystal mines on the map tiles on which they appear, as well as the colors of the crystals on character cards for dummy players in coop or solo games. The card is 63.5mm by 88mm, the same as other cards in the game.

Background: I felt the Faction Tokens should've had their own reference card because I kept forgetting I could use them for Fame and Influence, and because I'm red-green color deficient, I figured I might as well use the backside as a reference for the two circumstances that it affects my game, crystal mines and dummy players' beginning crystals. Other players have also expressed frustration at identifying the dummy player crystal colors because of the poor contrast on the character cards. This should solve their problem too.

Special thanks to thesaursaur for answering my question on this thread about mine colors. Also thanks to Phil Pettifer for inspiring me to add the section on dummy player crystal colors.

Welcome, “THE JESTER”; a new Mage Knight to play in MK!
Sly and sneaky, this Mage Knight uses shrewdly his skills of persuasion to manipulate others (units) to do his dirty work for him, able to convince anyone to help him on his quest. His desire for power and control is second only to his love of crystals. His cunning and deviousness make him a foe to be reckoned with on the field of glory!
The JESTER has been design for use primarily in PvP gameplay; this is the reason for their being two competitive skills in his toolkit, and no co-op skills. If intended to use for solo or co-op play, please feel free to do so, perhaps using only 8 skills or maybe even creating your own.

All game content has been designed by the brothers Michael Beyranevand (@Stongo)_ and Matthew Beyranevand; with graphic design by your truly.

Miniature available from etsy here:

I received a copy of MK for my birthday in December 2019, followed by all three expansions that same Christmas from my wonderful friend @Bortz.
An avid solo boardgame player, I quickly got it to the table and read through and played through the walkthrough (as the solo scenario) and preceded to repeat using the various different base game characters and content.
Not long after getting MK to the table, I joined the facebook/mageknight community (; which is where I first encountered the brothers Beyranevand, posting new card content for MK which they had created. Inspired by their adaptations, I set to in modifying their ideas into fully-fledged cards for full PnP. It was on the back of this that we began working together to create the content now set before you. We hope you enjoy!
