One could argue that there is not a single game on this list that is not a reprint or expansion.
Merchant of Venus & Nexus Ops are clearly reprints, and Rex: Final Days of an Empire is the classic Dune set in the Twilight Imperium universe.
Race for the Galaxy: Alien Artifacts, Alien Frontiers: Factions, Galaxy Trucker: Another Big Expansion, and Cosmic Encounter: Cosmic Alliance are expansions.
Some say Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game and Star Wars: The Card Game are Wings of War and The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game in space.
I don't care... I'll end up getting every single one of them.
Merchant of Venus (whether it's Stronghold, Fantasy Flight, or both) is still one of the best space trading games.
Whether it's Dune or Twilight Imperium themed it is still a great political/war/empire building game.
Cosmic Encounter... great fun... Galaxy Trucker... also a favorite... Race for the Galaxy expansion... should mix things up... Alien Frontiers... definitely could use a 5th player in our group... Nexus Ops... even without glowing aliens and a raised monolith it will be great... Star Wars miniatures and cooperative play... yup...
Gonna get them all. Sigh. Where to put them?
