After a 3 week nomination period, and a 2 week voting period the results are in.
After storming through Kickstarter funding, D-Day Dice has stormed the beachhead of the Wargame category, adding yet another title to it's string of impressive wins this year.
Following on its heels, Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game looks extremely promising. While I largely resisted buying every expansion for the Wings of War/Wings of Glory series I'm quite concerned that I won't have the same willpower when it comes to this one.
GMT's Virgin Queen edged out a pair of highly anticipated Fantasy Flight reprints, Nexus Ops (shipping now) and Fortress America.
Since this competition began, there have been four publishers that have made the list every year: Fantasy Flight Games, GMT Games, Multi-Man Publishing and Simmons Games.
Speaking of making the list every year, The Guns of Gettysburg (2010 & 2011) and Sturm Europa! (2011) are back. Will 2012 finally see The Guns of Gettysburg in print in advance of the Battle of Gettysburg Sesquicentennial next year?
