After a 3 week nomination period, and a 2 week voting period the results are in.
Racking up yet another title is D-Day Dice followed closely by the black-box edition of Glory to Rome. The long awaited reprint of Glory to Rome placed highly in 2010, and it's deluxe successor continues the tradition.
This year GMT brought out the big guns and didn't disappoint taking a third of the list with Dominant Species: The Card Game, Virgin Queen, and 1989: Dawn of Freedom.
2012 will be another sesquicentennial year of the American Civil War, and a third of the voting list were Civil War themed, but the two that made the list were the ever popular The Guns of Gettysburg and a Kickstarter title that I unfortunately missed out on... Divided Republic. The other three titles that didn't make the cut look equally intriguing... Iron and Oak, Borg's Test of Fire: Bull Run 1861, and an aspect of the Civil War that is often overlooked... Rebel Raiders on the High Seas.
Also making the list was one that piqued my interest last year... The God Kings: Warfare at the Dawn of Civilization, 1500 – 1260BC.
Kingdom of Heaven: The Crusader States 1097-1291 from Multi-Man Publishing demonstrated a strong following as well.
I thought the Wings of War series was a fantastic series, so I'm intrigued by Sails of Glory from the same designers.
