In what was another great day of gaming, there was another Dominion tournament, the out of print Kremlin got a run and some new people stopped by. Add what you played and see what games to get in on in a future meet.

Jason kindly hosted another Dominion tournament. With only 4 players, it was a one game, fight to the death affair involving Ernest, Simon, Elaine and Genevieve. Is anyone really surprised that Genieve won again?

Genieve 45, Simon 42, Ernest 31, Elaine 30

After Dominion, Jason, myself, Genieve and Simon decided to explore in space in Ad Astra. It was my second game, I think Simon's first game, I'm pretty sure not Genieve's first game and Jason took on the role of game explainer. After all our ships blasted off, explored the planets and built, it ended up with Jason on 62, myself on 54, Genieve 49, Simon 40 with me bringing on the game end discarding 9 cards in one scoring round to go past 50 (unfortunately Jason was able to score more points to overtake me).

Jason was the evil overlord in this lighter flicking game. David, Simon, Genieve and myself made it into the final room, but one by one we died before the main villain could be killed.

I was killed very early on, resulting in a win for killer Warren on $90k over gangster Aidden on $80k, backstabbing (backshooting?) Roland on $50k, greedy Mark on $50k, and dead-eye Michael on $40k.

Ah Kremlin, are there many other games with as much intrigue, ruthlessness, suspicion, one-upmanship and Soviet accents? Jason played a 'I won't reveal anything strategy', while Warren, Mark and Roland were more active. I showed influence sporadically, but despite finally controlling the KGB head, the Foreign Minister and the Defence Minister, Warren had previously got control of the Party Chief and the KGB head and held off any challenges to wave three times.

Jason taught Tim, Richard and I this real time game involving sand timers, producing good and delivering them to other planets for points. Jason won over Tim, Richard and I (Richard and I equal 3rd). Although we got a rule wrong which slowed the game down, I think this impacted us equally. The real time timers were an interesting point of the game, although I wonder whether further plays will reveal them to be a mere gimick.

We played a couple of games of Uluru, with Tim and I having played before. Everyone got into it pretty quickly and easily so I used the advanced cards for the second game. A brain burner but you have only 30 secs! Tyrone was particularly taken with this, so I'll always bring it along.

Tim was looking for someone to teach this so I volunteered. We played a 4 player game, all using Board 1. This game is not difficult but has a lot of fiddly rules, so hard to get right.we ended up playing 3 rules wrong.

Turn order is right to left not left to right on the turn order track.

When taking trading goods you have to leave behind any you can't fit in your warehouses.

A city can only contain one of each building type.

So Tyrone probably should have won!

We all enjoyed it nonetheless and I'm happy to play his one anytime.
