Played two games of this highly recommendable cooperative game.

For those that have played before, in our second game we sustained only one damage.

This is the lego version (pictured) which pitted the "evil" (depending on your POV!) Imperial Empire (Aidden and Richard) vs the "good" (also known as terrorists depending on your POV) Rebel Alliance (Mark and Genevieve).

After a disasterous start where the Empire lost both its AT-AT and AT-ST for the cost of one tauntaun laugh, the Empire unleashed its hidden weapon, Lord Vader. After his guards and mostly useless imperial stormtroopers had died, he proceeded to destroy a snowspeeder, an entire platoon of rebel soldiers and Luke skywalker himself!

It was a great day for the Empire! laugh

This was A la Carte AND Dessert combined (allowing 5 players and the new "salt" dishes).

I can't remember exactly what happened but the highlights were:
Over 70% of dishes were ruined
I managed to make "Modern Coffee" which was essentially heating up water and adding two coffee beans to a plate
Jason taking 10 hours to make a crepe - which was done to well done prefection!
Genevieve taking a single turn to make her crepe (curses!)
My crepe being burned, then thrown into the bin, then being reused and burned again ...

Overall, Aidden won after some skillful "stealing" of others' dishes. Jason received the perfection award for 2 perfect dishes and I won a gold star for trying ...

The glow in the dark sensation!

This game was played, well, in the dark. After charging the pieces on the windowsill, we played this game to full effect.

Most common utterances were:
"What is going on!??!?!?!"
"That's NOT possible!"
"Ah ha this game is mine ... " "Damn!"
"This stupid game ..."
etc

Very fun game that everyone enjoyed more than one would think ...

Another one for the kids which I've added to my collection.

Surprisingly fun and addictive.

Favourite moments:
"You've walked into that same wall 4 times!"
"I've got you know," "what!?!?"
"I know the way to get there," "maybe not ..."
"I can't get out of my area!"
"Ahhhh ...."

Clever game of deduction with a bit of luck thrown in. The invisible labyrinth is pretty awesome ...

3 player game of Tim, Mark and myself.

I describe it at "tichu-esque" but not really - fun trick taking game nonetheless.

Mark won the first game with my memorable final hand play netting me 119 points somehow

The 2nd game I won narrowly over Tim after a fortuitous gamble with card combos worked out.

Overall a neat game which is another addition to my collection (sigh) laugh

I played this with terry, David and Elaine. Beyond the set up which can be a bit tedious the game is actually quite fun and potentially cut throat. One would think if you are both married into the same family you would work together. How wrong is that.

Anyway terry won by miles ahead with good use of forging relationships and getting the right goods, I'm second, David is third and elaine came last.

2 quick games with terry me and David. I was never attracted by it but after playing it I can see why some people like it. It's ultimately a push your luck game and it's fairly fun if potentially random. David won the first one and I won the second one.

Tim brought this game out for a five player game between Tim, Andrew, Gracie, David and me. I think Tim and Andrew played it before and it shows.

It's a well themed game in which you are all nephews and nieces who are tasked with some of your uncle inheritances and you have to be the first one to spend it all. Whoever did this will inherit the actual inheritance. (the idea is that the uncle wants whoever got his money in the end to be someone who can enjoy it) Quirky theme aside it's card drafting/ engine building game and it's fairly interesting to play.

Tim won by going into debt in the penultimate round and so did Andrew, so skills definitely play a part. I think my quarrel with it is that the cards you get can be quite random and not enough interaction for my taste. I thought I had some good luck with my card combos but I cannot imagine what happen if luck didn't come my way.

Tried to learn this with David and Gracie.

We felt there was something missing in the game as it seemed to drift along without incident until it came alive at the end.

This may be a reflection of there only being three of us playing so we hsad limited interaction.

Like to try it again with more players and someone that knows the game.

Some poor souls kindly put up with me fumbling through another game of dominion. I did the old "Can't work out what I'm doing so I'll just buy gold" thing, which might have worked had I started earlier... some interesting cards I've never seen before from all sorts of expansions. Lots of ways to trim your deck into a lean, mean, losing machine. I still enjoy it. I've forgotten who won... I think it was Jason's Daughter whose name I've forgotten.

I have trouble following what other people are doing due to the shuffling and looking at the new hand every turn. It's a game I could play all night but I get limited time at WABA, this being my first (mostly) full day visit... so I needed to satiate my boardgaming itch.

This was brilliant. I think I could whip this out on family days very easily, even if dad has had a few. A reprint with Velociraptors would be the only way I could see this being improved. My friendly neighborhood game store clerk hosted and taught this one. Thanks Jason! I was beaten by someone one third my age again. Ouch.

Elaine Wikipeed out some startling facts about Wolverines. Also, there needs to be a mechanic to punish table knocking (Which I was not innocent of) Maybe loose a hex worth of progress? 2 if serious?

I think this was the coolest game I've played and the one most outside my comfort zone. When I saw Alastair rifling through this box I bounded over about three tables to get in on it. Then he tried to explain it to me by comparing it to other train games I have never seen. And then Jason wondered over and offered to teach us, paragon of infinite patience he is. The explanation sent me into a stupor reminiscent of my attempts at schooling. Kylie jumped in before the start and once underway it all clicked instantly.

Well, the mechanics did. Despite the best attempts of our tutor the tips for playing competitively were ignored in favour of aggressive refinancing. I was amply warned about the end game scenarios but got a little share price crazy "Oh no! It's the last share in My majority owned railroad! I better put my entire savings into it for future development!"

And the game ended soon after that. Absolutely stunned with this one, I can see how the game could play out in many different ways as people get better. The play flow was so simple and yet so enthralling. I never felt like I was waiting for anyone to go. And the only non-deterministic thing about it was the inner workings of your opponent's minds. I want to play this again!

With Great Dames, Be not Afraid and Cursed! Expansions.

Everyone seemed to go at this with the right attitude. We screwed David bad on a poor rule ruling early in the game. It seems like this game should be so simple but there was lots of little things that caught us up.

Not sure if this game is more than just a whole lot of awesome stuff that happens or if there is a real game in there... I'd like to think there is. This was my first time playing it with more than 2 people and first time with actual factual gamers.

Once your guys are on the board it seems that the moves to make are obvious, but that probably helps keep the game rolling. I made a few bad calls on decline timing, but I stand by all my race choices! Lost badly. Not as badly as David but he will have his revenge... I think I was a little overwhelmed for most of it as I didn't realise Kylie had made so much cash for the win. I was sure Nick's big endgame moves with marauding pixies and flying goblins were sure to bring it home for him. I think Alastair's deal with the magicians may have been his undoing... though what choice did he have?

The table talk was delightful. The way nobody knows if they are winning or not really makes it tense on those last few turns.

With Inns (Brothels?) and Cathderals and both rivers because, why not?

Best game ever of this for me. We scored by the book (With my family I score as depicted in the IOS version). I think the 2 point per mini-town and city-centric farm scoring helps make farms less important, which is a good thing. I'm probably way off though given the low play count.

Brutal tile trading more than made up for very little competition for features and the randomness or the tile draw with 5 players. I locked up most my Meep's before we were a quarter way through the game. Got a nice payoff in the end but still came last.

We tried to formalise the gentleman's agreements we started making with the yellow meeps left in the box. Things got crazy. It turned out much better than I thought.

I imagined 5 players would dilute the nastiness too much to make it much more than a co-operative building game but this was the second time I've played this way (Once with Family) and it's worked both times! First game with I+C and R2. Possibly too much river... but so pretty! Played through dinner and got very hungry.
