I only stayed for a couple of hours, but managed to squeeze in a couple of games.

What did you play?

Warren taught Christophe and I this classic (using a much nicer version of the game than the pretty average looking cardboard one that's available now).

I thought it was a fine game, but not one that excited me too much. I felt very much restricted by the tiles I drew, and it seemed that Christophe, who got into the lead early, was pretty much untouchable.

Christophe won, Warren in second place, and me in distant last.

And then Christophe and his family (Celine and Ben, I believe?) taught Warren Lords of Waterdeep. I also own the game, though this was only my second play (and we played the first one with a few of the rules wrong).

An excellent, but fairly simple, worker placement game. Lots of good but tough choices. And you always want the game to last another round or two because you can't finish everything you want to.

Especially if someone forces you to go on a mandatory quest. (Sorry Warren!)

Ben won quite impressively (and he was very excited about it too). I came in last again. I really had a bad day! (Though I enjoyed playing both games)

Oh, and Warren said he'd be picking up a copy of the game too, so it's safe to say he enjoyed it.

Settled down to an intense game of this with Rob, Steven and Mark.

Although everyone apparently knew exactly who I was, I still managed to scrape a win. My strategy of pathologically avoiding being the one to tip over the clock (after nasty experiences in my first couple of games) paid off, and it was a good, tense game. Mark shouldn't be allowed to play this one, he's far too sneaky and perceptive.

A fashion design game to build a business.

Jason, Tim and I competed for the fashion world with Jason getting off to a good start displaying a great Vintage collection. I flirted with solvency problems but started coming back towards the end.

At the end, Jason won with a massive business but no employees whilst I had both buildings and employees and Tim similarly.

Jason won, with myself 2nd and Tim last in a good game

Darth Allistar and Darth Richard faced up against Masters Ernest and Roger over the battle of Naboo.

The game started with Darth Maul going on the onslaught whilst Captain Panaka and his guards smashed through the ground floor battle droids. Meanwhile, Anakin attempted to get through the droid blockade and the droid army advanced on the Gungans.

The game changed when Qui-Gon went down however Captain panaka made his way into the throne room with some guards which sent the Sith scrambling battle droids to retaliate. Meanwhile, the neglected gungans started getting slaughtered as the droid army destroyed the shield generator and brought destroyers and AATs to bear.

Then, the force moved to the Jedi with Obi-wan taking down Darth Maul (just like the movie) and the wily Anakin jumping through more of the blockade. A brief retaliation by the gungans temporarily stopped the droid advance but not for long.

Into the end game, the remaining droids took down Captain Panaka and took out a swathe of palace guards before Obi-wan showed up and proceeded to decimate the droids - apart from the destroyers which showed a little more resistance. Meanwhile, on the plains the Gungans were routed with all their forces being destroyed. In the end, not a single gungan was alive and Anakin was only 2 steps from shutting down the droids. However, Sith reinforcements arrived and killed every palace guard, with only the Amidalas and Obi-wan "guarding" the Viceroy. However, obi-wan was shockingly taken down by battle droids in the final stand and the Sith triumphed ... again devil devil

Finished the day with a five player game of this.

Mark won the three race series over Jason/me or me/Jason followed by Jocelyn/Raymond or Raymond/Jocelyn.

To say I 'played' this would be an overestimation but I did sit at the table and do a few things with the game and its pieces whilst Tim, Jocelyn, Raymond and Jason played.

I, Malcolm Lannister, taught this to first timers Ian Martell, Greg Tyrell, Jonathan Stark and Scott Baratheon. Jared Greyjoy also lined up for another shot at the Iron Throne.

While the Martells and Tyrells happily held hands and did a dance for Summer in the south the Baratheon's crashed upon the eastern shore and quickly took The Eyrie. The Greyjoys and Lannisters had a bit of back and forth until the Starks emerged as a real threat from the north.

Baratheon quickly raced to the lead before being crushed from all sides around the halfway point. The Tyrells looked dangerous, slowly amassing a great force but while no one was looking the Starks swept down the east coast and took victory in turn 9.
