First up I taught David, Joff and Elaine this dice variant of Qwirkle. I like Qwirkle, and this does cause you to play a little differently than the regular version.

Each dice has all of the symbols on it, but all of one colour. As you draw it out of the bag, you roll the dice and set them in front of you.

Before your turn, you may reroll as many of your dice as you like once.

So, as opposed to regular Qwirkle, you have open information, which means you can see if you are setting someone else up for a Qwirkle, and you can also see the odds of your opponent rolling what they would need.

I found it very interesting and pretty fun.

The gigantic box it is in is maybe the single worst example of over-sized box I've ever seen though. (It's not the edition pictured)

I am pretty sure David won.

Then Ian and I had a muddled first attempt at Netrunner.

I watched a tutorial video before hand, and had a summary sheet, but it was still a little confusing.

But, the game did shine through, and obviously one just needs to familiarize themselves with the game and it will be smooth sailing.

I found it very interesting and look forward to future plays.

Ian totally kicked my ass though.

I taught Ian this simple, yet great two player game.

It's a simple game where you are playing cards onto a small board to capture other cards.

I won.

Ian and I played this excellent civilization card game (one that I also previously owned, but Jess hated it, so I got rid of it).

I took an early lead while Ian pursued a long-game strategy.

It was very close, but Ian beat me to the last achievement taking the game.

We played two games of King of Tokyo - I can't remember the line-ups for the games anymore.

I do remember winning the first game by earning the 20 points, much to Ian's disgust.

The second game had a spectacular ending - with the winner needing nine points and having only one hit left and holding a card that awards nine points if you can roll one of everything.

And he said he was going to roll it, and he did! Much cheering!

We played the very silly dexterity/area control game, Flowerfall next.

We played it standing up to add extra challenge.

It was fun, but you have even less control standing up. Not sure that anything was ever done intentionally.

And we finished with the very silly Würfelwurst.

It's a push-your-luck game where you are trying to collect sets of animals and either no sausages or only sausages.

I do like this silly, silly game. I remember it being a fairly exciting finish, though I don't remember who won, other than it wasn't me.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, somewhere in there we played Kingsburg with the first two modules of the expansion (my first time with the expansion).

I like the game a lot, and the new buildings add a lot to the game.

Doubt I'll ever play it again without them.

I think Karl won in a tie breaker and third place was only one point behind, and fourth only a point behind that, so it was a super close game!

Finally got to sit down with Andrew (and Tim) and learn this one.

As teaching games go, this one was very good as we were beaten by the game on the third turn.

This meant we were able to cover the set up, game play mechanics and game end scenarios in a short time, rather than dragging it out over a long period.

Had a five player game of this one with (let's see if I get this right) Andrew, Aiden, Nathan and Jason. We played the Eastern USA map and despite building a Western Link in the very last turn (to satisfy my Baron conditions) I placed in the middle of the pack somewhere.

Still, considering it was only my 2nd Railways game ever I was pretty happy with that. Despite going way into debt early on Aiden managed to win by a reasonable margin. The rest of us didn't do too shabby though.

Started a game of Crude but I had to leave part way through. I assume the other 3 carried on and replaced me with a cardboard cut-out capable of throwing dice. It probably improved my game. I'm intrigued by this game and I think I'd play it totally differently next time. Or maybe I'll give it a miss.

A classic archeology-themed game set amongst the treasure-filled ruins and steaming jungles of Central America.
Opals and I teamed up to play the black faction in a 4 player game against a good bunch of homies whose names I have unfortunately forgotten, though I am pretty sure one of them was named Andre, and maybe there was a Harry in there too.
I taught everyone the ropes and, being a fairly simple game, it was smooth sailing from there on. Smooth, but highly competitive, with everyone getting very devious with their stategic tile laying, treasure grabbing, tent erecting, and temple stealing!
There was a huge fight for one of the central temples which had been dug down to level 10, thus conferring the highest score, and a lot of competition for the treasures. Opals and I didn't get a single treasure, which ended up being a big disadvantage during the scoring rounds since acquiring multiple treasures multiplies your treasure scores.
In the end, the fellow with the orange shirt (Andre?) who also played the orange faction won by a respectable margin.
Good times!
Took about 1.5 hours.

There were two games of this. In the first game, I think Richard taught 3 others (which I was not a part of) for a 4 player game. Those 4 players were joined by another 2, one of which was me, for a 6 player game.

I quite enjoyed this game, but in looking back over the rules, BGG game forum discussion and some videos, I think we played the negotiation rules significantly wrongly/differently from what was intended - the game was designed to not have any 'suprise' deals, which is what was happening with secret influence/votes being moved without full knowledge or 0 influence/votes being put in as a mask.

I don't know who won the second game but it wasn't me.

Richard taught Tim, Jason and myself. This card drafting game has similar mechanisms to 7 Wonders and has a space theme with different ways to score points with an open scoring track. At this point, I prefer Among the Stars to 7 Wonders only becuase it is the game I have played less of the two.

In the first game, Jason won on 89 over Tim and Richard both on 80 and myself on 78.

In the second game, Richard included some expansion cards that included interaction between the players. In that game, Tim won on 92 over me on 91, Jason on 90 and Richard on 85.

Richard, Aidden, Jason and myself took on the firefighting role to try save people/animals in the midst of a burning building. We played this 6 times, only managing to win on the last one. I seem to remember that we played several different scenarios, seemingly increasing in difficulty each time (at Richard's suggestion?) despite failing at the previous attempt

This time, the late game was atan Histories: Merchants of Europe, with Jason teaching Tim, Joffe and me. This Catan based game has not victory points as the target but the delivery of goods (or whatever the name of it is). To be able to deliver the goods, one has to build cities (or whatever they are called), with goods only being able to be delivered to other players' cities. Thus, development to free up ones own goods for delivery and to allow for places for others' goods to be delivered is implemented.

It took us a few turns to get our heads around how best to develop and deliver. In the end, Tim delivered all his goods first.
