Taking part is easy:

1) Add the game of the miniature you painted as an item to the list.

2) Add the picture of your painted miniature in the comment section for that game.

(use the format [imageid=xxxxxmedium] where xxxxx is the id of the picture)

That way people will be able to better judge your work. Medium should be sufficient please do not use large.

Rules:

1) The image you submit must have been uploaded during February 2013. Gallery images are ok but submitted images are preferred, as they've gone through the geek mod process it guarantees the picture quality and it's also easier to check the submission date. The contest will end on March 31st.

2) You are the artist. Please do not submit miniatures painted by someone else.

3) One entry per person. You may, however, use up to two pictures of your entry to the front and back of the miniature.

4) The winner will be the picture with the most thumbs. You can thumb as many as you like.

5) If you can; include the make of the mini, scale and what paints you used in your entry.

Please keep the photo editing to a minimum. A border or colour balance is fine but if too much is done then it casts doubt over how much of the paint job is real. If need be put the unedited photo in your gallery and link to it from there, thanks.

Prizes:

Any tips received will awarded as prizes as follows:

1st place: 50%
2nd place: 37.5%
3rd place: 12.5%

So if the tip total comes to 40 geekgold 1st will get 20, 2nd 15 and 3rd 5 etc.

Geekgold is also given for honourable mentions so even if you don't feel confident about winning you might still get a prize.

I'll round down tips and put the remainder towards future prizes.

Judging at the end of the month and winners will appear in the next months list.

1st place will now also receive an exclusive microbadge! Microbadge: Golden Turtleback Painted Miniature Monthly Contest winner

Please give this geeklist a thumb to help get it to the front page. The more contestants the better!

And don't forget to click on the images you like and give the actual images thumbs up as well!

Board Game: Spartacus: A Game of Blood and Treachery

Painted these figures (apparently 32mm) with Vallejo and Army Painter paints. The hex bases were a bit warped and cannot be corrected even with heat baths, so I evened them with epoxy putty as best as I could. Lawn sand was used for basing. Sealed with Krylon UV-resistant acrylic coatings (Gloss then Matt).

The colour schemes were based on characters from the TV series and the movies (see image comments for details). The shield design of a red serpent was hand drawn and painted on cling wrap, and then applied to the figure by manners of medium and sealants.

Here they are on the board.

This is a 15mm Imperial Russian Heavy Artilley battery. Three of the guns are from Minifigs while the 122mm howitzer is from Irregular's Really Useful Gun (RUG) range. The RUG range is intended to offer unusual pieces in a scale somewhere between 15mm to 20mm. I have removed the gun shield to make this piece fit in a bit better with the 15mm models.

The gunners themselves are from a veriety of manufacturers, Minifigs, Peter Pig, Irregular and Eureka (using their range of WWI Bulgarians who have a pretty similar uniform).

These miniatures were pained with Vellajo, GW and P3 paints and GW washes.

Supreme Archdomina Makeda and Molik Karn for Privateer Press's Hordes. I was hesitant to field these models together as they make an extremely powerful combo in Hordes... but a friend got me the big guy for Christmas and I'm glad I finally got around to painting him as he has a lot of fun detail! (though I wish I could decide on some symbols to use on those back banners...) I'm still using mostly Americana craft paints.

I picked up these Chronoscope minis to replace the cardboard player pieces that came with the game. They were all paint with Anita's Acrylic Craft Paint with Army Painter strong tone to finish. This first picture is of the five base game characters.

And this picture is one of the kickstarter exclusive characters. The mini I picked up is next to the cardboard piece that comes with the game.

The heroes from Mice & Mystics. I painted these with a variety of paints (I'm no pro), but mainly Citadel paints. Other brands included cheap Wal-mart paints, such as Apple Barrel and Folk Art.

I hope this entry complies with the rules, since it's one group of miniatures and only two pictures. I've never seen or contributed to this list before.
