Myself (France), Judson (England), Andrew (Germany), Eric (Italy), Nathan (Russia), Rudolf (Turkey) and Jacob (Austria) took on the mammoth task of taking over Europe.

I can't give a full report of the game because I was so engrossed in my section of the map but here's a short summary from my perspective.

A stalemate with Italy early in the game led me to turn my attention to England. With the help of Germany we were able to attack from south and east and soon England was eliminated. Russia were pressuring Germany and my strong ally was forseeing a certain end to his dynasty. His pleas to send my fleet north of Norway and Sweden were ignored for several turns as I shored up my defenses in England in fear of him stealing away my supply centres there. My fears were unfounded and this was probably my downfall as Russia and Turkey slowly took the east and with Italy's support (who I'd just started laying into) they were able to call a joint victory.

The final result was something close to Russia/Turkey/Italy (20) defeated France/Germany (14).

Myself and Tegan arrived a little late and joined Erin, Royce and one other girl whose name I forget (two out of three is pretty good for me though...) for this simple game. It's pretty fun but the trestle table we were playing on definitely wasn't stable enough, as we were constantly picking up pieces that had fallen over and replacing them.

Royce ended up winning this one.

I taught another group A Castle for All Seasons while Tegan set this up, then taught this to Rachael, Karl and Opelina. I've played this a lot with three but this was only my second time with five. The added players really make coming last in turn order a pain. I really like this game but I'm terrible at it. Embarrassingly, myself and Tegan, the only people who had played before (and a decent number of times at that) came last. Rachael won with (I think) 45 points, despite having being dealt no decent Minor Improvement or Occupation cards.

Next the same group of five sat down to learn Cuba, which Rachael had won during her first WABA visit at Decembacon. We learnt from the rule book, which took a while. Karl ended up winning this with a clever combination of buildings that helped him fulfil the ships' orders without playing that action. I focussed far too much on buildings that give victory points and not nearly enough on the ships and came a convincing last. I did enjoy the game though.

Next myself, Tegan and Rachael joined Ernest and Eric for a quick try of this hilarious game of quick observation and dexterity. Much laughter ensued and wooden pieces were sent flying from the table as everyone tried to grab them. Really good fun, I'm pretty certain I'll be picking up a copy of this. I believe Rachael and Eric tied for first place although I'm really not sure.

Had a quick 2 player game with Opals. I loved how fast it played, and the board is very nice too. A classic!

Jason, Judson and I sat down to play a game of Dominion with a random setup. I think we had Library, Cellar, Wharf, Laboratory, Farmland, Goons, Spoils, Marauder, Ruins, Watchtower, Smithy and Militia. It was a close game at the end, with none of us sure of who had won. I managed to come out with a close win, effectively by buying the extra (and last) province., winning on 55 to Jason's 29 and Judson's 48.

As part of my The Battlestar Galactica Project, I played a 5 player game of my favourite game. We played a 5 player game with Pegasus, without a Cylon Leader, going to New Caprica (game combination 4).

Natasha: Gaius Baltar (cylon pre-sleeper)
Mark: Anastasia "Dee" Dualla/? (someone lower on the admiralty track than Starbuck)
Myself: Kara "Starbuck" Thrace
Oliver: Karl "Helo" Agathon/Saul Tigh/Tom Zarek
Eric: Laura Roslin (cylon pre-sleeper)

Highlights of the game included:
-a blue card spiking early which threw accusations on Natasha, Mark and myself;
-Eric forgetting his every turn ability and when he did, having several "Really, the other crisis was worse!" moments (which, funny enough, ended up being true);
-Eric and Mark combining to pass a check which gave us an extra jump prep, thus increasing our trust in him;
-everyone reaching New Caprica with no one revealed, no one clearly an unrevealed cylon and all resources actually quite ok;
-an early crisis giving me the option to send someone to detention and me choosing Oliver as I was worried about his loyalty and as him as admiral jumping away as soon as Galactica came back, killing whomever and whatever was still left (this was probably the start of the end, as I probably should have sent either Baltar or Dee to detention);
-Oliver eventually being executed due to a crisis card and we agreeing that it was safer if we knew whether the admiral was a cylon or not, Oliver being revealed as a human
-Eric soft revealing as he successfully targetted the now clearly human Oliver to die;
-Oliver dying twice after Natasha helped Eric kill Oliver twice;
-Mark dying through Dee's weakness;
-the unrevealed cylons eventually winning on morale after Galactica had jumped back.

Well done to Eric and Natasha on winning as the unrevealed cylons - even they were quite unsure until towards the end whom their partner cylon was. Thanks to all who played - that's another one down on my list.

I took over from Mark in a four player game with Warren, Oliver and Richard. My opponent's unwittingly distracted me at an opportune time to prevent me from winning

We played two 7 –player games of 7 Wonders early in the afternoon. The first was a no-frills affair that allowed Richard to teach a few new players the ropes. The second game introduced Cities and a couple of the new player boards into the mix; this was a hard-fought affair that ended in a draw between Jason and Misha, who happened to be sitting next to each other!

Next, Jason kindly supplied game, instruction and sound effects for Flash Point: Fire Rescue. Our first mission was the training scenario, which went off the rails fairly quickly and ended in a building collapse from which I was sole survivor. Not to be discouraged though, we dusted ourselves off and leapt once more into the (same) fray. This second attempt was a much different (and victorious) story, due to a whiff of experience and some good teamwork. Go team!

Taught this game to Andrew, Gracie and Tim.

Andrew developed a nice little unchallenged air pick up steam delivery engine that won him the game.

This was the third time I had played/taught this game to a friendly audience so can probably teach it to a wider audience now.
