I don't really feel qualified to put this up as I wasn't there a good part of the time, but The Public demand a list, so here it is.

Played a 7 player game of this to start off with with a mix of people familiar and unfamiliar with it. Went pretty well.

I had to leave my place to go to a baby shower, but Warren apparently filled my role perfectly. Thanks Wazza!

Came back and had a game of this to finish on. As usual, Mecha Dragon is a complete failure.

Taught this to two others, which is a bit cheeky, since it was only my second game. I must have caught Warren's disease - I didn't win. Or perhaps I'm a good teacher.

Even though I've only played two games of this, it is one of my favourites. A clean mechanic which is not overly complicated, quite different from anything else I have played, and rewards for sneakiness and subtle play. The only way I'd improve it would be to toss out the score table and use a bit of paper to keep score - with only three scoring rounds, the piece of paper can be quite small, but the mental arithmetic to add up large numbers leaves the possibility of arithmetic error providing the wrong result.

Four of us had a crack at Santiago. Warren likes it with 5 - since the irrigation pipe only services four plots, this guarantees conflict. But even with four of us, there was plenty of angst and shady dealings. A small gem.

How do you solve a problem like Maria?

Easy...play using the wrong rules....

Three player game with Greg and Roger, and I somehow misread a rule regarding card play to resolve combat. Still didn't seem to stop Roger winning the game against my marauding Prussians and Greg's creeping French/Bavarian alliance.

It's a game with nice components and rewards careful manoeuvre over fighting. Replicates the chess like moves of the mid 18th century mode of warfare very well using a clever set of game mechanics.

Map gives a very nice period feel.

We are planning a rematch using the advanced rules incorporating political wheeling and dealing.

Had a nice discussion about whether the designers censored the 'sacrifices' in this game, trading goats, chickens, maidens and firstborns for wheat, berries, fish and yams...
Anyway, in our 3 player game, Opals sacrificed many a yam to the angry gods, but James ran away with victory by building the most monuments and generally being a smart cookie.
I came last: my berries just weren't good enough this time!

Took about 30 minutes.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this again! Matt, James, Opals and I developed remarkable surpluses which meant that none of our farmers starved at any point. There was, of course, fierce competition for the wood... there's just never enough to go around in this game.
Opals made an excellent stone fortress with only two rooms in it, James and I puttered about in our vegetable gardens, and Matt did some amazing things with sheep. Or was it boars? Either way, he won by a considerable amount.

Took about 2 hours.

Tim, Jason, Tegan and myself played this first. It was my first time playing with four (have only played with two before) but it scales really well.

A variety of strategies were attempted: I tried (and failed) to max out the temples while Tegan built buildings and monuments. Jason went for the crystal skulls which ended up winning the game by a considerable margin. Tim made a miscalculation mid game and ended up in last place (at least that was his story...).

This game allows a considerable amount of interaction for a worker placement system as availability of spaces on the gears and available corn to pay for them are very important. This game saw Jason utilise his technology track ability to place a crystal skull one step ahead on the track, right in the space I had paid dearly to be in the turn before. What a jerk, right?

A really great game with loads of strategies to explore.

Next Tegan, Rachael and myself played Last Will. After working through the rulebook, the game began to take shape after the first round.

This is all about building a little engine to spend money in the early game, then selling that engine for as cheap a price as possible before spending the remainder of your cash on one-off items.

I managed, mostly through dumb luck, to spend exactly what I had on the second to last round. Lucky too, because Rachael had about three (million?) dollars left, and would have definitely won next round.
