Hey everybody. I film a series of boardgame runthrough videos called Rahdo Runs Through and I run a yearly fundraising drive on Kickstarter to fund said series.

One of the main rewards I give to people who back me in these funderaisers is the ability to vote for (and at some backer levels directly choose) a portion of the games I would runthrough every month. So far the results have been very cool - the voters have been putting me through my paces with some really heavy games, and also some great obscure ones. Here's a thread devoted to the results so far: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/966204/directors-chair

The games that the voters choose from is found here in this geeklist. If you've got a game you'd really like to see the voters choose, add it here, and explain why you think it would be a good choice.

If you see something you like, be sure to thumbsup it!!! Every month, when the voters cast their ballots, the list they'll be voting from will come from this geeklist, composed of the games that have gotten the most thumbs from all of you!

Bear in mind, I'll exercise some editorial control over this geeklist. If you request something insanely expensive/impossibly rare, I probably will remove it. Also, if it doesn't support 2 players, I'll definitely delete it, because I simply cannot play the game to do a runthrough, as I *only* play 2p games.

Note, I also remove items from the list if I'm confident my wife Jen or I will NOT enjoy playing them. Here's a list games that have been removed (and the reasons why):

Too long, heavy, and/or fiddley:
1830, Android, Arkham Horror, De Vulgari Eloquentia, Firefly: The Game, Fury of Dracula, Here I Stand, High Frontier 3rd Edition, Incredible Expeditions, Indonesia, Leaving Earth, Marvel Heroes, Neuland, Poseidon, Roads & Boats, Shadows of Brimstone, Space Alert, Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails, through the ages 4th edition, Warhammer quest: Silver Tower

belial1134 wrote:
Also, I thought I read this list's header was going to be updated on another thread? Or did I misread it and that was referring to another list being updated?

i haven't updated it for awhile, but i really need to!

And so now I shall!

Too conflict-ey/cutthroat-ish:

So how do these requests get used?
Here's how it works: there's 2 types of titles on this list: games I own, and games I don't own. Every month, I pick the top thumbed games from the "games I own" category and include them on voting ballots that my backers can use to choose which games I'll film every month. A few times a year, when my backers get to vote on what new games I'll buy, that list is comprised of the top thumbed games that I don't own from this list.

So if you really want to see something covered, list it here (if it's not already listed, and isn't one of the games above) and get it some thumbs!

Also, I want to give a HUGE shout out to BGG user

who made a nice little app for me to automatically count thumbs to save me the trouble of doing it by hand. Here's the link if anyone would like an at-a-glace view of where their favourite request is standing: http://thumbs.rahdo.com

Also, not for nothing, but I still choose the majority of games to be covered by Rahdo Runs Through, and this list will definitely influence me too when choosing games to film

I can't remember if I added this to last year's list, before Richard tidied things up. Oh well, I'm adding it incase I didn't (feel free to remove, Richard, if you removed it last tidy-up).

This is a nice tile-laying island-exploration game that has no video reviews or playthroughs on the 'geek at all! Its reworked younger brother, Entdecker: Exploring New Horizons, only has 1 video review/how-to-play. Much like Carcassonne (possibly an inspiration for Carcassonne?), but with more adventuring around than statically sitting meeple on features.

I know this one was culled from the list previously due to it falling into the "Less than ideal with 2" category, but with the release of the official 2p rules with the 3rd edition, and the Brittania map, I'd like to put it up for reconsideration.

Do the new 2p rules push this game into the "It's OK with 2" camp, or can it do even better? Feedback that I've heard so far seems very positive.

A lovely (in my opinion at least) 2 player card game, where you place cards to allow you to pick up other cards already laid, which score you points. The card piles you can pick up by laying your cards on certain spots is in a sort of complex rock-paper-scissors layout, e.g. place on (a) to pick up (b), place on (b) to pick up (c), place on (c) to pick up (a) (though it's a bit more strategic than this!).

I've played this quite a bit on Yucata.de and really enjoy it, though don't have a physical copy yet, as it's fairly hard to get (at least in English, although the cards & board are entirely language independent).

Here it is Richard. You expressed interest in other games that have similar scoring mechanics to The Castle.

Sunrise City has flown way under the radar. It is a very fun game that was the Clever Mojo Games follow up to Alien Frontiers. It's possible the abrupt shift from sci-fi to city building from a new publisher turned a corner that many didn't follow.

This is not a sophomore slump of a game for Clever Mojo. Thematic integration is great. In addition to the unique scoring mechanism (could be linked to weird bonuses that real-world developers get for hitting random constructions goals that matter to power mongers swimming in day trading waters), you and Jen will very much enjoy the initial role drafting (which also sets up a hidden first player reveal for each round).

Play is three rounds. Each round has phases: zoning, bidding for building rights, then construction. Once zoning tiles are out you must bid for the right to build, then you get to choose where you actually build - which is not fully set by the bidding - particularly in the second and third rounds. In the second and third rounds the first player gets to decide which direction the city the city will grow - where additional zoning tiles can be played and scored. Scoring happens instantly during zoning and player by player after the construction phase. Every other floor constructed offers bonus construction points, so there might be a little AP issue. But, that shouldn't over stay it's welcome in a two player game.

It's a fun challenge to simple-math-it-out and earn the right amount of points and land right on the score track to earn bonus vps - which very much affects the final scoring outcome.

The large set of rule breaking roles, the modular tile laying (similar to Carcassonne in some respects), then stacking up the deliciously thick building tiles makes for excellent replay.

Looks like most BGG folks are not sold on the 2 player game. I haven't played that count. I'm not sure what phase of play would suffer. It would certainly cut out some of the randomness the bidding can introduce with four players - three players messing with your best laid plans!

Do see if you can get hold of a copy. Very much worth your time in my book.

I just picked this one up recently and thought it could be fun. Players are trying to put on the best Broadway production by hiring the most suitable actors to fill each role. You get points if you can get the best actors and perform your show in the best cities. For 2-6 players.

Very cool steampunk heist game where you spend an equal 50% of your time hiring (or breaking out of jail) the perfect crew for the big job, and then doing the big job itself, while Johnny Law nips at your heels the whole time. Very atmospheric and fun game from Phil DuBarry with stunning art. I've got a prototype on hand which I could runthrough for this game which will likely be coming out later in the year...

One could almost think of this as a micro Twilight Struggle (theme and tug o' war-wise), that plays fast, and we found surprisingly enjoyable, as this would normally not be our kind of thing.

A very very cool deck building game that about half way through turns into a deck destruction game, as the zombies pour into take all the players out. Last man standing wins, in this very cool and compact deckbuilder with lots of charm.

I'm interested in this game, but can't find any playthrough videos of it. I like to imagine that it is something like a more economic version of Wombat Rescue, but I have no idea. I know so little about the game that I'm hesitant to buy it.

A very well loved abstract tile laying game, widely considered one of the ultimate travel titles.
