David, Mario, Patrice and I played a game of Genoa, with David being the superior Italian merchant. The free wheeling interaction was really enjoyable, but it consumed a fair bit of time.

A surprisingly "strategic" dexterity game where you have to both place pieces on board the ship and catch any that fall off.

Fun was had with the intelligent Captain Jason taking the first game with shrewd moves.

The second game was narrowly won by myself as others got very unlucky with the "rough seas" - especially Tim who got really unlucky with a drop.

Fun game, lots of wood and apparently not easy to find ...

Fireworks!

This hard cooperative game pitched Jason, Aidden, Mark and myself against building fire works. In both games, the green fireworks fizzled (unable to be completed) but we did better in our second game.

Fun cooperative that is deceptively difficult.

The "hardest" part of the game was drawing to your hand WITHOUT looking at the card drawn! (You know your colleagues' hands but not your own).

There was a spectacular battle between the Miskatonic University (Opals) and the adherents of Yog Sothoth (myself). The university suffered a heavy defeat due to the lack of funding for the humanities department. Let that be a lesson to us all...

Later on, the University (Opals) battled the strange forces of Hastur (myself), and was almost single-handedly defeated by a 'sweet old lady' with a tray of Cthulhu cookies! But once the ball got rolling for the varsity boys--sports scholarships were given--the King in Yellow was soundly beaten back.

Good introductory games for Opals, and good fun to play!

Thanks to Tim and Andrew for teaching Opals and I this one.

Really intriguing worker placement game with loads to do, excellent icons, and some really great mechanics.

Tim won by a fair margin, followed by Andrew, then Opals, and last, but also least, myself.

Fascinating!

This was described to me as a 'Grandaddy worker placement game' by our teacher, Matt.

I thought it was great! Unfortunately I built all the buildings which nobody needed to use ever.

Matt won by a landslide, Opals came second. I twinkled on the horizon at a very distant last place.

Played a four player game of Ra, with three of us teaching the new player, Andrew.

Great teachers, he won.

We worked our way through a three player game of this one.

David was the best thief.
