This is a list of boxed games that have been produced which are Dots and Boxes games. This list is not for games that use fences, but for games that are equivalent to the paper and pencil game of Dots and Boxes.

The premier reference on the game is:
Elwyn R. Berlekamp
The Dots-and-Boxes Game: Sophisticated Child's Play
AK Peters, Ltd.; 1 edition (July 2000)
ISBN: 1568811292

If there are an odd number of boxes then the game can't be tied, if there are an even number then it is possible to tie. Now naturally one has to ask, why would anyone make a gameboard with an even number of sqaures which could result in a tie.

1. Board Game: Box-It [Average Rating:1.00 Unranked]
Board Game: Box-It
This is a significant variation of the pen & paper game of Boxes in that you can either place a pennant or or turn a pennant already on the board to secure an areas.

The gameboard is 8x8 grid of 64 cells. (Why didn't they make it an odd number to prevent ties???)

The goal of the game is to claim the largest territory on the board by closing off areas with black sticks that have exactly one player’s color at the edge. All areas in the interior of the board must, when closed off, trace to an edge.

13. Board Game: Squaresville, The Strategy Game [Average Rating:6.00 Unranked]
Board Game: Squaresville, The Strategy Game
10 by 10 Dots and Boxes with a few twists.

First some of the box edges are marked in black to denote that those edges are filled even before the game starts. It would seem that some of the edges were filled to prevent a symmetry strategy.

Second 14 of the sqaures are colored gold to indicate that they count double. So the whole 10x10 board actually has 114 points.

Objective: Fence in the bulls with areas enclosed on as many sides as possible with your own fence colour.

Connections: Must be made between dots in adjacent areas. But not necessarily adjacent dots.

Excellent strategic game, gorgeous components, lots of replay.

16. Board Game: Triagonal [Average Rating:5.81 Unranked]
Board Game: Triagonal
Board Game: Triagonal

From a quick glace at the rules, I didn't see a "plain" Dots and boxes variation listed, but that game could be played with this set. There wouldn't be enough tiles of any one color to color the whole board, but getting the whole board would be a very lopsided win. With 49 triangular sectors the game couldn't be tied.
