Ian taught this to myself, Pete and Jack. I've been looking forward to this one for a while and I was impressed. Pete won this.

Played this with Pete, Ian and Tegan. I think Tegan won, but that sounds unlikely so maybe it was someone else.

Also played with Pete, Ian and Tegan. Only my second time playing and the first was a while back so I just tinkered with the different gears before settling on going heavy resources and trying to bounce off the top of the temple climbing tech a few times. Strangely I was the only one who increased their workforce and that was only once. I think Pete won this.

Played this twice with Pete, Tegan, Nathan and a semi-newbie named Rob I think. The first play we used the daikaiju and I wouldn't recommend ever playing with them. They turn a light and quick game into something tedious, and annoyingly random. We left the daikaiju out for the second play and everyone had a much better time.

Finally got to play this!

Rich vs Oliver vs Ernest vs me. Took 3 hours (!) mainly because most of us were learning.

We got the show phase payout a bit wrong in the beginning, which meant I had about 200 grand more than I should have had. Oliver had a great card (a building I think) which got him many stars, but Rich won the most show categories and took the game.

There was much boho.

All in all, a very fashionable worker placement game.

Jason taught this to Maggie, Blake, myself and another two fellows.

Jason taught the game well, clocking in at around 1.5 hrs.

Once we got started, we all did really well launching into space. I think I landed first, taking a section of Mars.

The game was amazingly complex. I must admit I wished we started with the beginner version rather than the advance game.

All in all, I really appreciate Jason teaching and the other players being wonderful. I admit I wasn't the best sport in this game as I spent the last two hours just pushing water tanks around as I could not lift off or do much of anything.

Would I play again? Perhaps. 6 hours is a lot of investment for a game and I prefer to play other games instead.

Tim taught this one to Ernest and me. We hoped to find a fourth player but no one was available.

Good game, I liked it. Tim won through his canny use of henchmen but the scores were close.

OK, so I didn't actually make the meeting (recovering from a short stay in hospital), but I did manage a session with the SIL. Taught him Small World. The play with only two seemed quite different to playing with more. I went through five races, the SIL through four. I did a Warren - the SIL won, 111 to 99. But we both enjoyed the game - definitely a goer for two.

Another two-person attempt at a game normally played by many more. SIL got into Tokyo. With only two players, being in Tokyo is not much of a disadvantage, and he harvested fame points at a great rate. All over in about twenty minutes - I was thrashed. Sigh. Will I ever win a game of King of Tokyo?

For the last game of our session, the SIL chose Quandary. This is a two-person game. SIL likes playing it, even though I have the edge. Thus it proved this time around. In most games of Quandary the winning strategy is to limit your opponent to one or two colours. In this game, that didn't happen much.

SIL intends to purchase a copy of this, second hand. I didn't think that likely, but there are quite a few on eBay in the UK. I suspect postage will be more than the cost of the game (and with few components, he won't have to worry about missing pieces).

A two person classic - if you want to addle your brain cells!

Myself and Karl played this great LCG towards to end of the day.

We decided to play two monster decks, so Karl picked Yog Sothoth and I went with my favourite Deep Ones (Cthulhu) deck.

It was a weirdly standoffish game, mostly due to my Ravager of the Deep stopping Karl from committing to stories without being wounded.

We had to finish up early as Warren was attempting to put away the chairs with us still sitting on them. It was my two stories to Karl's one when we finished, although Karl was very close to winning his second.

Played Caylus for the first time with Owen and Natasha (hopefully I got your names right!).
Was a great game with a lot of depth, we played for approx. 2 hours.
Natasha got dominated by both Owen and I continuously screwing her over with the provost - we didn't purposely target her, just happened to play out that way.
In my first game I tried to control the wealth, Owen managed to get some buildings out early and slipped through my strategy to bring home the victory.
I'd love the opportunity to play this again so send me a mail if you are interested.
Big thanks to Natasha for teaching.
