WABA After Dark once again ran on the third Tuesday of the month. There was a pretty solid turnout for this event, and some good games got played. See what got to the table, and if you went, add what you played.

WABA's guild can be found here.
The metalist of WABA games played can be found here.

After a 6th person arrived, scuttling our attempt to play Ticket to Ride, we decided to start with the popular King of Tokyo, the cafe's copy so popular that some printing on the dice were clearly faded/almost gone.

In what was a tight tussel, I managed to be the last one standing, defeating (in order from first dead to last) Warren, Mark, Leece, Rob and Christian.

Rob, Christian and I cracked this open to wait until some other games finished, to allow for a reorganisation of groups of wanted. Our knowledge of historical events were tested, with Rob defeating Christian (on a double tie-break) and I to take out the win.

With more people having turned up in the meantime, we split into different groups. I found myself in a 5 player group, and a combination of a) seeing El Grande; b) having Warren in my group; and c) one the players (Christian) not having played it, saw us agree to play this classic area control game.

After a tight tussel in Spain, Warren ended up with the victory on 106, followed by Rob 90, me 79, Christian 75 and Peter 71.

Peter wanted to learn this game, and Rob and Leece kindly taught it to him and Christian (and refreshed my memory) before leaving. The rules feel a little long to explain for what the game is, but it is a relatively simple game once play gets under way.

We irrigated tiles, sent the gardener to grow bamboo and moved the panda to eat it until Peter ended up with the win on 36, over me on 34 and Christian on 26.

As the first eliminated from King of Tokyo I joined the recently arrived Peter to tackle this while we waited for other Tokyo pretenders to die.
