Discussion Thread: MaricopaCon No-Ship Math Trade Discussion Thread
Math Trade Overview:
All trades are intended to be made in-person at the August 2-3th MaricopaCon event being held at the Mesa Convention Center. Additional details for the event are available at http://maricopacon.com/. With that in mind, it is assumed that there will be NO SHIPPING COSTS associated with any item in this trade. Pleas only participate in this math trade if you plan to attend MaricopaCon. If you are not registered for the convention but would like to participate in the Math Trade, you can as long as you are willing to come to the convention center during the convention weekend to make your trades. Since some folks who do not live in the Phoenix area may be participating in the math trade, do not assume it will be convenient to arrange a meet-up time outside of the convention weekend. You are also welcome to arrange for someone at the event to make your trades for you if you are not able to attend. If, for any reason, your trades ultimately fail to happen at the con because you were not there, you will be responsible for shipping the item at your own expense (or reimbursing the shipping cost if receiving items).

Use of the On-Line Want List Generator (OLWLG) is required for this event (please remember to tip JeffyJeff some GG for his support).
Key dates (all times are AZ TIME):
Open for posting games: Now until Wednesday, July 30th (8pm)
Want list submission period: Wednesday, July 30th (8pm) through Thursday, July 31th (8pm).
Results posted as soon as possible (within an hour, hopefully) after the Want List deadline.
Please do not delete items or sweeteners once you have listed them. You can always submit a blank Want list for an entry if you decide not to trade it for any reason.
OK - some simple rules - please take a few minutes to read them:
Allowed items:
-Anything from BGG, RPGG or VGG
-Gift Certificates valued $10 or more (lower denominations can be listed as sweeteners). Unless specifically stated otherwise, GCs for "online game stores" will be interpreted as any retailer that stocks any kind of game, including Amazon, Steam, Target, etc.
-As this is a local trade, feel free to include Gift Certificates to local board or video game retailers. Bookman's credit slips are also allowed.
-GeekGold with a minimum of 200 per entry (lower denominations can be listed as sweeteners).
Listing Guidelines:
To list an item, add an item to the trade GeekList. Each listing should contain at minimum the edition (i.e., publisher and version, if more than one), language and condition of all items. "Edition pictured" is NOT an acceptable description, as it is unclear in the OLWLG.
If you'd like to add anything that does not have an XGG entry or otherwise use an alternate name, use a board game entry and select Outside the Scope of BGG (id=23953). In the description for your item, include a title, formatted like this: +altname+Pick 2 of 5 Games!-altname- You MUST use this if your main item is a portion of an item with its own listing; for example, if you've got just the Scout part of Carcassonne: King & Scout as the Geeklist item, list it under Outside the Scope, not the K&S entry. (Please read this last part in the spirit of the rule; I hope it's clear that I'm not talking about CCGs or games that are missing a single piece.)
To add sweeteners to an item, use the Insert Geek Link dropdown. Do NOT add links to any items unless you're including them as a sweetener.
For any item that is not new in shrink, you must inventory it, and you will be responsible for any missing pieces not clearly identified in the item description.
You may not edit an item in any way that would be construed as a downgrade (worse condition, removing a sweetener, etc.). Should you need to downgrade a listing, re-list the item, then change the old listing to an Outside the Scope entry that references the new item number. DO NOT SIMPLY DELETE THE OLD LISTING; some people make notes about the GeekList and get confused when items are deleted.
You are required to subscribe to each of your items in the trade in case anyone has any questions about them.
Miscellany:
Gift Certificate and Geek Gold arbitrage is not allowed. Arbitrage is defined as trading a Gift Certificate for a larger GC (such as $25 for $30) or Geek Gold for more Geek Gold (such as 200GG for 300GG). Gift Cert for Geek Gold trades are allowed, and vice versa. You are also allowed to trade Gift Certs for other Gift Certs of equal or lesser value of another type (such as a $20 Amazon GC for a $20 Red Lobster GC).
I reserve the right to remove any entries at my discretion.
Only mistakes made by me in my capacity as moderator will invalidate the results. If anyone (myself included) checks the wrong box in Step 4, that's very unfortunate, but the trade must go on.
Have fun, happy trading, and see you at the event!
