Greetings.

As wonderful as the BGG Wargame Chain of Generosity & Wargamers Paying It Forward threads are, transatlantic shipping can be prohibitive for many. The purpose of this thread is to give those living in Europe a slightly easier way to get involved in the generosity. Please continue to participate in the other threads, they are brilliant, lets make this one brilliant too.

Here's how the chain works:

Step 1: The chain is seeded with a game (or games). Entrants declare themselves 'in' on the comments. After a specified time (a week is good), a winner is rendomly drawn from those who declared themselves in.

Step 2: The winner will add a game or games to the list as the next item, preferably within 48 hours of being decalred the winner of the previous item. Once again entrants declare themselves 'in' and after a specified period a winner is drawn randomly.

Step 3: The new winner repeats step 2.

Thing to remember:

heart Declare in the comments of the item you want to win that you are 'in'!

heart If you win an item, you must post a game of your own to give away in the same fashion. If you are not willing to do so, please don't play!

heart Although you are not required to offer more than one game or a choice of games, if your listnig is not gaining much interest you may want to add further items to keep the chain going.

heart This is an international list. Please clearly state your shipping conditions in the listing, otherwise you agree to post internationally and cover the cost.

heart Europe means the continent, not just the EU. Keep this in mind when thinking about postage costs.

heart This is a wargame list so make sure you can offer an item that is a wargame, or of wargamer-interest.

heart The main thing is to be generous and enjoy giving away good games to good homes.
So with that in mind, lets get going...

Final Edit : draw concluded, see bottom.

Edit : Draw tomorrow...3 in so far, last chance.

Savannah is my main offering.
Its a very good system. This game introduces a seige and card assisted play into the series. It has only been played once and so is in great condition.

For another choice pick any TWO or THREE of :

Alexander the Great

Aspern-Essling 1809

Breaking into Valhalla

Patrol! (No box but otherwise complete).

Treasure of the Lost Temple

Tyrannosaurus Wrecks

Sergeants! in the Sand

Star Viking (No box but otherwise complete).

The Warriors of Batak

Starleader: Assault!

The Ashes of Empire: Das Science-Fiction Brettspiel

The Book of Medieval Wargames

I hope someone finds something of interest. I am of course nervous in comparing my offers to the recent calibre of others...but such is life!
I will give two-ish weeks before drawing to allow for the slowness of the summer holiday period. Thus drawing on end of August.
Happy gamimg

DRAW : so, three are in rolling for winner on 1-2, 3-4, and 5-6 in order of appearance.

1d6 = (5) = 5
Last one in!
Ok Andrew, geekmail me with your postage address and preffered game/s.
Better luck next time to you other two!

Please choose 1 of the following:

Alexander the Great

Very good condition - hardly played.

Titan

A player's copy.
Used, but still in good condition.
Missing 1 yellow legion marker and the box has 2 taped corners.

Attack Sub

Used, but complete and in good condition.

Kingmaker

TM Games edition as pictured.
Used, but contents still good.
Box a little scuffed and compressed.

USN

The very first game I got with my S & T subscription! (Not this copy by the way).
This is the flat box version without the title/cover sheet.
Contents in good condition.
Includes some additional photocopied charts, errata etc.
Box lid is split at one end, but still fits okay.

All games are in English only and come from a smoke free home.

I will close this on Sunday 24th September 2017.

Disgracefully late!

This is the OSG version, not the Clash of Arms version in the picture. The components are complete and good condition, though the box has a few dents and the maps were once selotaped together. Nothing is unusable, but it's not a pristine copy - it's been played.

Another Leipzig game on offer; Leipzig: Napoleon Encircled. As you can guess, I was quite interested in this battle at one stage. I'm now firmly of the opinion that it was the battle that proved the limits of Napoleonic warfare. Game is punched but good condition.

Or there's an unpunched copy of Wilson's Creek: The West's First Fight, August 10, 1861 on offer. A very solid system, and a great entry game into the series.

Another game that serves as a good introduction into a much larger system, this time the Great War at Sea system. The game is Great War at Sea: Pacific Crossroads and it's in a punched but very good condition.

Finally, there's Rebel Raiders on the High Seas, a relatively quick-playing strategic game on the ACW, with the focus firmly on the naval campaign. I think I won this in a previous giveaway so I feel bad putting this up, but I didn't really get on with it myself and would rather someone who'd play it have it. Nothing wrong with the game, in fact it's a simple-but-deep ruleset that certainly gives tense games. I'm just not interested enough in the theme to be bringing it out before other games... Game is in very good condition.

I've also added Killer Angels which is in an unpunched and tidy condition.

Drawing 18/10

Free Games!

I'd like to give away a couple of games. Declare yourself 'in' and I'll pick a winner in a few days (if anyone is interested). I'll pay for postage in the UK but if you're in the EU I ask that you sent me £12 £10 via paypal to cover the postage.

This is not part of the chain. I just want to get rid of some games. No need for the person who gets the games to give anything away in response.

The games are:

Stonewall Jackson's Way and The '45.

Hopefully some of you will be interested!

The draw will be made on Sunday 12th November. Please chivvy me if this is too long to wait, or I forget

As promised, I've added a few more titles to hopefully broaden the interest. Good luck!

Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles - This is the 1/e with v1.1 rulebook etc including additional colour printed copies of some components. (punched)

Band of Brothers: Ghost Panzer - 1/e (punched)

Added November 5:

Rebel Sabers: Civil War Cavalry Battles - TSR edition (partially punched)

Wellington's Victory: Battle of Waterloo Game – June 18th, 1815 - TSR edition (punched)

La Grande Armee - TSR edition (unpunched)

Spies! - TSR edition (unpunched) - Maybe not strictly a wargame, but still pretty much on-topic.

[edit:] Updated with punched status. The components are unchecked as they are all sitting on my shelves unplayed. The games are all in reasonable condition given their age, so are likely to have bowed/scuffed boxes etc. Nothing requiring an advisory, IMHO, other than the general observation for the recent additions that like all TSR games of this era the counters have nubs in the middle of the counter sides rather than at the corners as any self respecting counter would have, so obsessive counter clippers will most likely be thwarted in their attempts to remove all fluffy bits from the counters, and others such as myself will despise TSR for this heterodoxy.

Pick one. I'll do the draw next Saturday (9th Dec) Thursday 7th Dec.

Across 5 Aprils Battered box, but all good inside.

Bobby Lee The most recent (2013) edition. Very good condition.

Lee vs. Grant Very good condition.

Rommel in the Desert Second edition (the red one). Very good condition. The gameplay is almost identical to the newer edition, as far as I know, and personally I like the map better.

SPQR + Pyrrhic Victory: SPQR Module + Simple GBoH First edition of SPQR but with updated rules and charts. Older edition of Simple GBoH, but still totally playable. NB there's a counter missing from SPQR (one of the Hastati, as I remember), but you can just use one from another legion.

For bonus points, answer the following question:* why do I keep buying block games when I clearly don't like them?

*Bonus points are non-transferrable, non-refundable and cannot be converted into any other medium of exchange.

So my first ever win and my first posting. Is it sad but I am nervous that my selections might not be popular. But here goes.

The Eagle and the Star: A good condition (one corner of box split but everything else in good nick) block game of the Russo/Polish War. Sickered and ready to go. Never played. All components present.

If this doesnt take your fancy then any of the 2 following games:

Battles of the Hundred days ziplock. Good condition, punched all components present.

Vae Victus Raid sur Bruneval game only. The only game I know of on the subject. With English rules all present and punched in good condition.

Asia Crossroads Strategy and Tactics magazine. Magazine and game. Mint condition unpunched.

Hold the Line: Highland Charge.

The expansion for Hold the Line Fredericks War (ownership or download of base game rules required this is expansion pack only). Punched but in good condition.

The Last Stand White Dog Games. Sorry forgot to post this at start. The ziplock game of The Battle of the Little Big Horn. Punched and complete. In good condition.

Hope these are of interest.

I will make the draw next Thursday 14th December and they might get to you by Christmas!

Well, this proved popular last time around (although not won), so I'll offer it again. It is in used, but still good to very good condition. The box is solid, although with some scuffing and a sticker mark on the front. Everything in English of course.

As an alternative I can offer:
Prochorovka: Armor at Kursk

Well used, but includes additional scenarios, rules errata etc. as printouts. Box solid with some slight scuffing. In English.

Both games from a smoke free home and I will cover all postage within Europe.

Like everyone I will be busy over Christmas, so I will end this on 2nd January 2018.

Okay.... quite late - but here it is: My entry!

I might as well start by adding a few things and see how it goes. You can pick one one item on this list:

Flight Leader - Used (partially punched). I've really wanted to play this but I can't seem to get it started. I have counted everything and is of cause complete.

1776 - Used. I've played it once (but played before I had it too). It have some (Danish) hand written notes in it, with some nice drawing made on them; you get these notes for the drawing and history of the box (unless you don't want them, then I'll keep 'em in case I will get the game again some time. Also included some old Internet printing with US history.

Frontiers: Libery or Death - New and shrinked. Not historical but a war game none the less.

Or:
The Hundred Years War (punched) + Battle for Fallujah: April 2004 (Print-and-Play on thick photo stock) + the magazine After the Battle #3: Ruhr Dams Raid (which also include Dunkirk).

Adding up some alternatives:

Or:
Liberty: The American Revolution 1775-83 - Played a few times, but like new.

OR:
Air Force - Played of cause (it's the 1980 edition), but in very good condition

OR:
13 Days: The Cuban Missile Crisis - New and shrinkwrapped

Write a comment with your interest in one of the items and I will find a winner on January 30th February 11th - a week from now.

Okay, I'm being a bit lazy here. Since there was interest in most of the games in my last offering I'll list the survivors from no.107 to start things off pronto and will probably add some more stuff at the weekend.

Updated Monday 5th March

Ending evening Thursday 8th March

The components are unchecked as they are all sitting on my shelves unplayed. The games are all in reasonable condition given their age, so are likely to have bowed/scuffed boxes etc. Nothing requiring an advisory.

Band of Brothers: Screaming Eagles - This is the 1/e with v1.1 rulebook etc including additional colour printed copies of some components. (punched)

Band of Brothers: Ghost Panzer - 1/e (punched)

Wellington's Victory: Battle of Waterloo Game – June 18th, 1815 - TSR edition (punched)

La Grande Armee - TSR edition (unpunched)

Added Monday 5th March

Blue vs. Gray - QED edition (VGC)

I rate this game
I have multiple decks, so it seems reasonable to share the love meeple

Sorry for being late, but hopefully these offers make up for it.
ONE of these following games can be yours! I tentatively announce a draw on Sunday in a week, 29.04.2018.

---

1914: Glory's End / When Eagles Fight

Game is punched but unplayed and in great condition.

---

Air War: Modern Tactical Air Combat

SPI Second Edition (the yellow one with a red corner on the top left, not that ugly TSR stuff ). Box shows wear, but the game itself is unplayed and in great condition.

---

Tannenberg: The Introductory Game

Punched and either carefully clipped with a 2mm Oregon Laminations Corner Rounder or unclipped, can't remember right now...
Either way in great condition!

---

Autumn For Barbarossa
Clipped with an Oregon Laminations 2mm Corner Rounder, and in great condition. Does not include the magazine.

---

If none of these scratch an itch, let me know and I'll add options!

Good condition for its age.

Wilson's Creek: The West's First Fight, August 10, 1861

Zip-lock bag, punched and clipped.

A House Divided: War Between the States 1861-65
Unpunched - version as seen in picture (Mayfair Games I think)

Great War at Sea: Pacific Crossroads
Great War at Sea - Pacific Crossroads. Good introductory game to the system (not that it needs an introductory game - it's quite a straightforward system). Good condition.

Leipzig: Napoleon Encircled
Punched but the folder is a little worn - contents are fine.

I'll draw Sunday night if there is any interest.

Let's see if anyone is interested in this eclectic mix.

The Arab-Israeli Wars

Has been used, but majority of counters remain unpunched.
Contents very good.
Box less so - 2 split corners and well scuffed.

Alexander the Great

Very good condition - little played.
In English only.

Yes I know this is hardly a " proper " wargame, but it might be wanted by fathers for sons or by anyone harking back to their youth etc.!

Risk

Brand new in shrink.
This is the 2010 Hasbro English version.
Box lid has slight compression on the front from being stacked under some heavier items. Has not damaged integrity.

Please choose any 1 of these by Wednesday 16th May.

Okay so this is my offering. Opened and punched, played once. All components present and in near mint condition.

If this doesn't take your fancy them how about a choice from:

Custer's Luck, Wargamer magazine #45. Game and magazine. Both In good condition. Punched and played.

Or

Wings of Glory Duel Pack. Complete with Rules etc. and Fokker Dr.1 and Sopwith Camel.

Off to Scotland visiting family for a week or so, so will make draw on Thursday 7th June.

Back from Bonnie Scotland and will make the roll (if one is needed) at 1600 BST or thereabouts.

As the sole entrant, Twisto wins!! What do you fancy?
