Greetings.

As wonderful as the BGG Wargame Chain of Generosity & Wargamers Paying It Forward threads are, transatlantic shipping can be prohibitive for many. The purpose of this thread is to give those living in Europe a slightly easier way to get involved in the generosity. Please continue to participate in the other threads, they are brilliant, lets make this one brilliant too.

Here's how the chain works:

Step 1: The chain is seeded with a game (or games). Entrants declare themselves 'in' on the comments. After a specified time (a week is good), a winner is rendomly drawn from those who declared themselves in.

Step 2: The winner will add a game or games to the list as the next item, preferably within 48 hours of being decalred the winner of the previous item. Once again entrants declare themselves 'in' and after a specified period a winner is drawn randomly.

Step 3: The new winner repeats step 2.

Thing to remember:

heart Declare in the comments of the item you want to win that you are 'in'!

heart If you win an item, you must post a game of your own to give away in the same fashion. If you are not willing to do so, please don't play!

heart Although you are not required to offer more than one game or a choice of games, if your listnig is not gaining much interest you may want to add further items to keep the chain going.

heart This is an international list. Please clearly state your shipping conditions in the listing, otherwise you agree to post internationally and cover the cost.

heart Europe means the continent, not just the EU. Keep this in mind when thinking about postage costs.

heart This is a wargame list so make sure you can offer an item that is a wargame, or of wargamer-interest.

heart The main thing is to be generous and enjoy giving away good games to good homes.
So with that in mind, lets get going...

Wargame Magazine chain (deceased)

One of best Wargames ever, in the words of a "true wargamer".

Ok, no.. it's a joke for LCR attendants.

Let's offer :

Crusader (SCS series)

Command Decision + Expansion (Barbarossa, Bastogne) [Second Edition]

+

Jena!

Hope it draws some interest...

I will choose a winner by some obscure procedure in a week (February 13th)

Ok, let's choose between an Irish and a British... a pitty the Six Nation encounter happened a few days agos, It will have been nice to link the winner with the winner of the game. Let's roll, Ireland wins on odds, England on even... and the roll is : Odds for Ireland, Even for England 1d6 = (5) = 5

If this doesn't excite interest then I can also offer one of these:

Waterloo: Quelle Affaire. A neat game of a little known battle.

Or:

Panzer Grenadier: Afrika Korps and Panzer Grenadier: Desert Rats bundle. All contained in the one Afrika Korps box as Desert Rats came in a Ziploc bag when I got it.

I will make the draw on 28th February.

Great. My turn again.
I offer an unpunched copy of Lee vs. Grant in excellent condition, or

An unpunched copy of

Yes, it's the second edition. I just opened the box, tried to read the rules, and decided that I want the first edition.

I'll draw a winner in a week (on Wednesday, 24th) if there's interest.

EDIT: Sorry, I've been a couple of days without Internet connection.

OK, let's try to improve my offer.
I'll add as an option
. I think it is unpunched, but I have to check. Tomorrow I'll confirm it.

And, as a sweetener, I'll include
with the game chosen.
The drawing will be next Friday, then.

EDIT II: Here come the rebels is mostly unpunched, I can confirm.

I honestly thought there would be some interest for any of these games.

Ok, I'll add a punched, clipped but otherwise unused copy of

to the offer.
You're making me sweat! Drawing will be in a week's time (I hope!!)

EDIT III: OK then. Drawing will be on Sunday the 28th.
By the way, just in case the wording is confusing, Arquebus is another option to pick, not a sweetener like Pea Ridge.

EDIT IV: Finally, rien ne va plus. I'll make a 1D4 roll:
1.- durchske
2.- sillygamer69
3.- colditz
4.- andrewey

And it's a...1d4 = (1) = 1

So, Tonny wins!! Congratulations. GM on the way.

For Lee versus grant, I offer a copy of Pax Baltica
Game is in good condition although the box has a split corner which is taped.

Not your thing?
No problem, what about Glory Recalled: Hong Kong 1941 in very good condition

Extra games you could claim as well in stead of the 2 offered already

Wilderness War 1ste edition in good condition

Storm Over Dien Bien Phu also in very good condition

Maria in very good condition

I'll also add Thunder in the Ozarks: Battle for Pea Ridge, March 1862 ziplock version or the boxed edition of Washington's Crossing for free (your choice).

I still might add an extra title today or tomorrow depending how a trade offer goes.

I'll pick a winner 5th may

Last call and because I noticed there is no hex and counter wargame in this list (except the extra games), on last addition. You can also pick Waterloo 1815: Fallen Eagles in stead of one of the 5 main games

First semi final:
dice result is a 2 (not sure if people can see that result here).
Teofilus has made it into the final

2nd semi final:
Dice result is a 3... I think that is sillygamer69 (open another page to check my numbering and it is Sillygamer69)

Final will be rolled after I ate something
one die... odds Teofilus, even sillygamer69. Stay tuned

Last dice has been rolled and we get a 1 result
Contrats Teofilus as you won the draw... Sending geekmail

Ok, so here goes with a couple of offerings. Trying to keep up with the recent quality is getting harder folks!!

First up is Worthington Publishing’s Dunkirk block and CDG game. Stickered but in near mint condition.

Or

Twilight War, the TSR game of French resistance in 1944 pre Operation Overlord France.

I am in Scotland currently visiting my family so these entries are off the top of my head to keep the Chain going. Obviously if there is zero interest I will change the offer on my return ‘Dahn Saarf’ in a couple of days.

Ok home now and an addition to the choice:

Another Worthington/PSC offering, Lincoln.

I will draw on Wednesday 22nd.

My, I thought for a moment Kalle was going to be be unchallenged but Charlie came out at the last minute.

So 2 players and a D6 roll to decide:

Odds- Kalle
Evens- Charlie

A 3 and Kalle wins!!

Very good condition.

4)

Soviet Dawn: The Russian Civil War, 1918-1921 with

Very good condition.

Pick one from group A and one from group B (or 3 from group B, if you prefer):

Group A - boxed games
Quartermaster General - Victory or Death - very good condition.
Warriors of God - very good condition inside, box has some wear.
Roman CDGs bundle: Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage (second, Valley Games edition) - excellent condition AND Spartacus: Crisis in the Roman Republic - unpunched.
Mannerheim's Cross: Finland at War 1939-1945 & ATS bundle - I have loads of spare ATS counters, multiple copies of scenarios etc. so if you want this I'll add some extra stuff based on your interests. MC is unpunched.

Group B - ziploc games
Kadesh: Mobile Warfare in the Middle East
Ney vs. Wellington
Trajan - all three punched but generally good condition. No magazines, just the games.
Legion(2nd edition: uncut - the counters need mounting, or you can use CCA blocks, miniatures etc.). Don't be put off by the need to mount the counters - this is a super game, similar to but in my view better than the more hyped Lost Battles by the same designer. I have the first edition mounted so no need for this.

If no interest after a couple of days I'll come up with some more stuff. I'll draw next Sunday (16th).

Time to start digging through my loft. Choose one of the following:

Civilization

Gibson's first edition.
Seems to be listed on Amazon for silly prices.
Condition is good to very good.
Board is just beginning to warp - fortunately upward very slightly in the middle.

Berserk: War of the Realms

A well received tactical card game that was popular in Russia.
Brand new in shrink for anyone who wants to try something different.
English language.

The Arab-Israeli Wars

The Avalon Hill original.
Contents in very good condition.
Counters mostly unpunched - only played first couple of scenarios.
Box has a couple of re-taped corners.

Naval Battles

In very good condition.

All games are in English and all come from a smoke free home.
I will also add a magazine game to the prize. Not sure what, but it will be in VG or unpunched condition.

I do really need to sort my loft out!

Closing 1st July.

Edit - Adding the following:

War at Sea (second edition)

The Avalon Hil original.
Players copy in as much as all pieces present, but box split and dished with a surface tear.
Still a very playable game.

Alexander the Great

Very good condition throughout.
English language.

I will, of course, add a folio game to either of these.

Closing Saturday 13th July.

GM on way.

I also won't be coming back on this thread as my tardiness is obviously annoying some people and I have better things to do than respond to impatient criticism on what I always thought was a friendly site.

Ok so quicker than expected then this first offering of the GMT game.

Or also up for offer

NATO: Next War in Europe.

The 80's game of WW3.

If neither of these generate any interest I will look to add further games.

Draw will be made next Saturday 19th.

The US civil war with the official new manual and PACs. Never really played and it's in mint condition.

OR

Alternative 1 - Hellenes

Everything is included but the box is a bit battered.

OR

Alternative 2 - D-Day at Peleliu

Played once or twice, good condition.

OR

Alternative 3 - No Retreat - The Italian Front

Played a few times the Sicily campaign. Excellent condition.

OR (last but not least)

Alternative 4 - Dien Bien Phu: The final gamble

Played once but unfortunately does not get the table time.

I hope this is a good selection. I consider all of these good games but for a variety of reasons they don't get the playtime they deserve. I hope the winner plays many more times than I do the game that they'll win.

Good luck everyone.

EDIT: The time has come, the 9 contestants are the following:
1 Roi Espino
2 Daniel Gallego
3 colditz
4 Kevin Croskery
5 Andrew Borgelin
6 Tonny Wille
7 Edgar Gallego
8 John McDougall
9 Sergio Alves

I will roll a d10 and if it's a 10 I will re-roll it. Good luck again.

CHANGE OF PLAN

I am now offering the lucky winner the chance to win three games instead of just one.

Eagles of the Empire: Spanish Eagles - punched but in very good condition

Punched but in very good condition

Box cover is a bit jaded and has a small sellotape tear in the top centre but components are in very good condition. Counters unpunched.

Excellent condition. Never played.

Now - You can also choose any of your three games - not just from the three listed above but also from my trades collection...

https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/Ashiefan?trade=1&s...

HOWEVER - I am 99.9% all the games in my trades collection are complete but I have only listed the three ones I have looked at recently and know to be complete.

If you choose a game from my trades collection that isn't listed above, the risk is on you! I am not going to sit down and check them through, so please do not ask. If you don't feel comfortable with taking that risk - please do not enter.

Okay, this has got several people now. I'm going to do the draw on Sunday 18th August. That should give everyone an opportunity to see it.

10 people in. Will roll a d10.

Dice Roll is a 1. Richard is the winner. Congratulations Richard.

1914: Serbien Muss Sterbien Bought from new, played once, counters rounded with a OL corner trimmer. GMT tray included.

The Campaigns of King David Bought from new, played once, counters rounded with a OL corner trimmer. Cheesex tray included.

Hannibal: Rome vs. Carthage Valley games edition, bought as new, played twice.
