Official 2015 Geek Madness Tournament: Round 1 - VOTING CLOSED
Welcome to the 12th Annual Geek Madness Tournament!
Every Spring, we pit the top 64-seeded teams against each other to crown one game the Geek-Certified Aldie Award winner. This is a single-elimination tournament where the game with the most votes (thumbs) advances to the next round.
The tournament will continue to use the format of previous years. All entries will be posted by a secondary account so that I will not be the recipient of all those valuable thumbs. A thumb for the GeekList is not required but encouraged and appreciated! Please help this stay on the front page to attract the attention of the most voters. Thanks!United KingdomGeek Madness is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. - The Bard

2006: Power Grid
2005: Puerto Rico
2004: Tigris & Euphrates
I grabbed the top 50 games on Monday, March 2, 2015. Games that are too similar have been combined as one entry. The higher seed was given the combo while the lower of the pair vacated the seed. Fourteen games were allowed to be nominated and filled slots 45-48 (the top votes) and slots 55-64. Games with an asterisk below received the most votes to fill the vacant slots. Games were re-ranked on Sunday, March 16, 2014 for the final seeding.
Tournament Bracketology 101:
It is easy to form seedings throughout a 64 team, single elimination tourney. In the first round, the seeding numbers added together always equal 65 (1 plays 64, 2 plays 63, 32 plays 33…). In the second round of 32 teams, assuming all of the top seeds win, the total of the two seeds will equal 33, and so on. If there is an upset win, then the winner takes over the spot of the higher seeded team it defeated.

For each match-up, vote for your favorite game by clicking on the thumbs-up icon.
This round ends Monday, March 16th, in the morning BGG time (Central).
You may vote for any games, whether you have owned or played them. You can vote based on any criteria that is important to you. You can cheer for your team, recruit legitimate voters, and rib the other team - just keep it modestly civil! Please feel free to comment on the games and match-ups, and most importantly, have fun!
IMPORTANT: This is meant as a fun competition. Please only vote with your main User account, i.e., ONE VOTE PER PERSON PER GAME PER ROUND (yes, you may vote for both games in a pairing if you really are undecided). Do not create "dummy" or shill accounts to vote multiple times as those votes will be voided if discovered.
