CelestiCon 2015 No-Ship Math Trade
- Andrew Walters(andreww)United States
No-Ship trades are a great way to move around those bulky games you don't expect to play but wouldn't want to ship! And nothing gets the ball rolling like starting off the convention off with a new-to-you game!Recommend
Here are the parameters:
#1 Use of the OLWG is required. If you have never used the OLWLG before, read up on it here: http://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/OLWLG
#2 The Discussion Thread for this trade is here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/article/19972735
#3 The Request List for this trade is here: CelestiCon 2015 No-Ship Math Trade Request List
#4 You can submit items up to 11:59 PM on Friday, August 21.
#5 You can submit want lists up to 11:59 PM on Friday, August 28 Results should be up by midnight on August 30.
#6 This is a no-ship event, so you need to meet your trading partners at CelestiCon. The default meeting time will be 9:45 AM Saturday morning (since a lot of us have events starting at 10:00), September 5. You should send GeekMail to your trading partners and give them your mobile phone number to make sure you can connect. You are free to agree on a different time and place to meet, but see item #8.
#7 The default meeting location will be in the main hallway that houses Registration and the Game Library desk, but further down, out of the crowd. If you look at the map in last year's program book the area near tables F6 & F9 just outside the miniatures room is the spot. Hopefully this year's layout will be similar. This location is *inside* CelestiCon, so admission to the con is necessary to participate.
#8 You can connect with your trading partners to make other arrangements, but don't expect people to answer GeekMail or email at the con unless they have explicitly indicated they can and will. If a handoff is not made because you weren't present at the default time and place or the alternate time and place you arranged with your trading partner, you are responsible for shipping costs, both for games you didn't pick up and games you didn't deliver.
#9 The con staff are very supportive of having a math trade at CelestiCon, but they aren't handling the games. They can direct you to the trade location, but don't ask them to hold or deliver your games.
#10 Please describe your items completely. Are they complete? Clean? English edition? Box intact? Squamous at all? Which Edition is it? If you don't say your trading partner can expect a brand new game of the latest version in English.
#11 GeekGold, Gift Certificates, and tangentially related items are allowed, but let's try to limit ourselves to things gamers might actually want. Absolutely no pirated material.
#12 OWLG Metric Used: USER-TRADING Seed=18241974 Iterations=100
#13 There is no rule thirteen.
#14 If someone argues too stridently that they are not a werewolf, they're a werewolf.
#15 If you need to pull an item from the trade before the Item Submission period is over change the description to something blank, but don't delete the item. After that do not change the description, just submit an empty want list.
#15 Don't delete any entries. If you need to pull an item from the trade before the Item Submission period is over change the description to something blank, but don't delete the item. After that do not change the description, just submit an empty want list. Don't delete "sweeteners", either.
#16 If you want to trade something that's not a game (or just not a game in the database) added it as "Outside the Scope of BGG", "Miscellaneous Game Merchandise" or "Miscellaneous Game Accessory". Include in the desctription test like "+altname+ brief description -altname-" so the OLWLG will name your item usefully.
#17 If you link to a game in your description the OLWLG will think it's a sweetener, part of your offer. if that's what you want, do that. If you're simply *referring* to another game, you should name it without linking to it.
#18 The "Public Die Rolls" feature is turned on for this GeekList for no reason. Please use it responsibly.
#19 CelestiCon has a Flea Market late Friday night. Most of my items that don't trade will be there. If you're trying to get the deadwood off your game shelves that's another option - details on the CelestiCon web site.
