"The Whistling Death quick start rules are a demo but they're a pretty complete one. You get a pared down version of the tactical air to air rules, the data cards for two aircraft and a couple of scenarios. If all you're interested in is single-manned single-engined fighter to fighter combat then you could probably get by with just the QS rules and any extra scenarios and data cards you can find on the web."
Mark H. Walker's Lock 'n Load: Band of Heroes is a tactical board game tour de force that covers the battles of America's airborne troops during June of 1944.
"Actually what is free is a demo of this game. In the demo you get the infantry rules (this leaves out tanks, and a lot of other rules), one map and just enough counters to play the 1 scenario. The full game is definetly not a print and play game."
"Everything you need to play the sceanrio is included in the download, and the scenario itself is a good one. I've used it to introduce people to the Lock 'n Load system."
Lock 'N Load: Forgotten Heroes Vietnam is a fast moving, fun to play, tactical level game of small unit actions in the Vietnam War. While players will find it to be an accurate depiction of squad level combat you won't have to wade through a hundred pages of rules to play. In fact, you'll be up and playing after reading less than a dozen pages of rules!
To the Barricades!, the first title in the War Storms series, is a game which attempts to simulate, at platoon and company level, the battles which took place on the different fronts of the war. The rules are oriented towards the tactical simulation of combat involving armored vehicles, infantry, artillery, and aircraft, and as such they are especially suited to represent almost any 20th century armed conflict as it actually happened.

It's a really nice, fast-paced, WWII tactical game with many different type of units, and it requires a solid strategy to win.
"Assuming that you like this type of game, WWII platoon level tactical game, then this download is worth playing. It is just one scenario and does not include the full range of units and other things available in the Panzer Grenadier series. But if you like this one then you can go on and buy one of the games."
