I almost forgot! While we were waiting for the last table to finish up, Grug lent us his copy of this great little drawing/bluffing game. Tim, Warren, Ernest, Mark, Leah, Jason and myself played two games.

This is basically Spy Fall with drawing. One player makes up a clue, announces a category for that clue (e.g. book, film, game etc.) and gives every other player a little white board. Every board but one has the clue written on it. The one that doesn't is the Fake Artist for that round. A piece of paper is passed around the table and, in turn, each player must make one mark (without lifting the pen) in their uniquely coloured marker. The paper goes around the table twice, so each player will make two marks before the group has to vote on who they think the Fake Artist is.

The first clue was Star Wars, and the fake artist was correctly identified, while Ernest's clue of "Settlers of Catan" was made a little too obvious by Tim drawing A FULL SHEEP shake, allowing Mark the fake artist to bluff his way to victory.

I love this game, it's always hilarious and is a great alternative to Spy Fall.

This was a game without Pegasus, with base Exodus, without the Cylon Fleet Board, without Daybreak, going to Kobol, without a Cylon Leader, without Final Five, with Personal Goals (Game Combination combination 8 in The Battlestar Galactica Project). There were also the following special rules:
1. We used Pegasus Investigative Committees so that destiny was not revealed in skill checks.
2. We used both the Pegasus cylon overlay and Pegasus rule regarding handing off a revealed cylon's unrevealed loyalty cards.
3. To preserve the ratio of CAC to non-CAC crisis cards as per the base game, all the relevant Exodus crisis cards were included and 34 of the total non-CAC crisis cards will be randomly removed (done pre-game).

This was a partially planned game, Mike and I confirmed before the meet, with Blake, Scott, and Keith joining us on the day.

The characters were:
-Bill Adama (me);
-Gaius Baltar (Blake);
-Callandra "Cally" Tyrol (Scott);
-Kara "Starbuck" Thrace (Mike); and
-Lee Adama (Keith).

Highlights include:
-three negative cards coming up in a skill check, including an extra red, throwing suspicion on the two pilots;
-Starbuck alternately being awesome in charging into raiders and blowing them up, and then useless in shots missing;
-sleeper phase coming and no one trusting each other;
-Cally looking at one of Lee's loyalty cards, claiming a human but that not resolving trust issues;
-Blake inadvertently non-confirming what was not in a skill check, thus confirming that he was the cylon;
-Bill Adama volunteering to go into sickbay and then requesting an XO, drawing significant suspicion which was only released in playing out a Personal Goal;
-the humans jumping to victory after Baltar revealed himself as a cylon, post game revealing that he had both cards and was thus playing as a lone cylon (but revealing too late to pass the other loyalty card on).

Effectively a resource gathering, turn resources into other resources into money game, this felt like a Euro with a pasted on theme with a light scattering of 'combat'. I thank Mark for teaching Scott, Tim and me, but lackluster gameplay combined with a admittedly instinctive distasteful theme* made this the bust of the meet.

*which I learnt that Warren shares this opinion

Tim (and Mark) taught Jason and I this...set collection(?) game involving collecting cows to score points, primarily by multiplying the numbers of that type of cow by the highest value of that type. I ended up with the win on 152, over Mark 143, Tim 117 (or were Mark and Tim the other way around?) and Jason on 94. I'm not sure what I think about it - it wasn't a bad game, but it didn't really grab me either.
