Same procedure as every year... Here comes the 2016 Winsome Games' Essen Collection...

Feel free to tell us all how you think about the new set in general and the included games. If you want to know more about the sets and the history feel free to check the meta list and the wiki entry.

Winsome Games will (probably) have it's booth in hall 2 at A100...

These three games comprise the 2016 Essen Set. All 2015 customers have been sent their confidential early announcement. New customers will have to wait until the official Public Announcement is posted on the Winsome Games Yahoo Group on July 11, 2016, to reserve a 2016 Essen Set. This is because we want all the 2015 customers to have a chance to get back from Vacation and reserve their Essen Set.

John Bohrer usually designs longer games than this year's creation. Highly tactical, short and cunning, German Rails is Eddie's shortest design to date. Players start and expand railroads in Germany. 3-5 players for about an hour, most Victory Points wins the game.

John Bohrer has created an 18XX game for experts, set in South Africa. As usual with our Winsome 18XX games, a copy of 1830: Railways & Robber Barons is required to play, largely due to the need for the tiles. 1859 has a shorter playing time than 1830: Railways & Robber Barons and includes a number of little companies, token passage and a bit of South African history. For 3-5 players for about 2-4 hours. Most money wins, of course.

John Bohrer has provided another one of his short and demanding games. There is no luck in this capitalist exploitation of America's midwest. Speculation and temporary emergent alliances dominate the play in Chicago & NorthWestern. 3-5 players for about an hour, most money wins the game.
